Mon 6th july: cambridge diet newcomer

Hi everyone

Just a quick note to say hello to all who are currently on a Cambridge Diet and to find out how you're all doing?

I started SS on Monday and have found it OK so far: a few minor headaches and some fatigue, but nothing that hasn't been cured with lots of water.

My target weight loss is 3 stone, and since Monday I have lost 5lbs. Way to go yet, but so far so good.

If anyone has any pearls of wisdom to share about how to keep on the right track with CD, I'd love to hear them!

Good luck to all,
Claire x

2nd timer

I have just started for the 2nd time i think it is good you need lots of willpower. Wateris the answer to all my cravings. This time I am going to do more exercise and go on the maintenance plan when i am reaching goal. I found that an occasional day off for a special meal or glass wine kept me on track before but not untillihad done 4 weeks of the diet and lost more than a stone.
good luck

Cambridge diet

Hi there - I started the Cambridge Diet today for the 2nd time, mainly to lose a bit of weight before I go on holiday to Canada (Sept) but then Id love to get down to 10 stones by Xmas.

I know its a while since you posted so hope you are still on it? I know its tough but the results are well worth it .

I did the lighter life diet a couple of years ago and lost three stone but recently moved in with friends and have put 1 stones on in three months and Im now back up to 13stone gutted!! Good going I know!!!

Anyway I just wanted to find some people also doing Cambridge as I really miss the camaraderie I had at lighter life and the counselling. (My Cambridge Counsellor is lovely but its nice to be part of a group)

How are you all getting on?

Started the cambridge diet 2 days ago.....

Hi Claire,

I started the CD 2 days ago and tomorrow (Sat) will be my third day and I am going to a BBQ...in the evening........I too have not found it too bad just a few headaches......I sat whilst a lady I do a little bit a care work for (she has MS) had a meal with her cousin...Very posh restaurant but I just did not feel tempted to eat a thing....she felt so bad...as I had to wheel her to the restaurant......I had water and had to feed her then let them chat I just read magazines........

I would like to lose 4 stones......I have 3 weddings to attend and I want to look good plus bring down my BMI which is 30......My health is important and so my goal is in sight...

I would love to hear from you or anyone else to be a diet buddy...it is not easy but if we have support then we can do it...I am not going to stop my mission and have not weighed myself..I will leave that to my first weigh in when I pick up my next week;s supply of CD sachets.....I hope to do this for 12 weeks then go on the the next programme.........3 months is the max for sole course......

Keep feeling positive and please feel free to motivate and be motivated......I know how it feels.....I am the heaviest I have been in my life.....

Love and peace JADExxxx

You can do it!

Hi Jade

You're right, I think the hardest part so far is not being able to eat or drink anything other than water when out with friends and family. My mum isn't too happy about me doing CD, but I explained about the RDA of vitamins and minerals... Hopefully she'll come round soon!

Last Wed was my first evening out while on the diet and my friends were really good about me just drinking water. Plus, I can be like a sober sister now for if they get a bit tipsy!

Hope the BBQ goes OK for you and you manage to power through and everyone supports you. You did really well at the restaurant! I think water is the key, especially with the headaches. I had a terrible night yesterday but drank lots of water and am feeling much better today.

4 stone is do-able Jade, and I'm sure you'll get through the next 12 weeks just fine. If you want to be diet buddies, I'm totally up for it! Would be nice to check in with someone actually on the diet. My husband is brilliantly supportive, but it would be great to check in with you as you're going through the same thing!

I'm finding visualization techniques to be really helpful at the moment looking at clothes in smaller sizes and 'visualizing' myself as a smaller me. I'm going to Las Vegas at the end of August and would love to be closer to 11 stone by then.

Anyway, have a great weekend and let me know how you're getting on.

Good luck, and speak soon!
Claire x x
