Groups are three times more successful
Hi there. I know how you feel. I have put on a stone in the last year - ironically since I left work at Slimming World! (I am a writer, not a consultant!) I dont work there any more so I don't have a vested interest but I do know how much work and research they have put into the physical and psychological aspects of losing weight. Please dont go for expensive plans that promise you'll lose three stone in a month that simply isnt healthy. A healthy weight loss is around 2lb a week, though you might lose more at first. The slimming world plan is designed to stop you feeling hungry and to give you CHOICE and CONTROL. There is no point losing lots of weight if you pile it all back on the minute you go back to eating "normally" but if you can make changes that allow you to feel satisfied, you're far more likely to keep up your good habits in the long term. Group support is one of the best ways to get your head in the right place because youre encouraged and given lots of ideas without being made to feel a freak or a failure. Iam going back to group (and no, no one will think any the worse of me because I have put this weight on - they understand we're all human and with my change of job, a massive workload and a lot of snacking I've slid into the "easy food, bad habit" groove that can catch us out some time). Please consider going to a group - it'll have to be one that suits you, of course, but I can honestly say that in my year working for Slimming World I interviewed so many people who had had their lives totally transformed for the better, it was inspiring! There we are, I am off my soapbox now. No, you won't always be like that and neither will I. A bit of positive thinking, realism and support and we'll get there. Be kind to yourself = you deserve happiness!
