What is the best way to lose weight quickly?

Hi, i'm looking for some advice from anyone who has lost a bit of weight quickly / is currently on a really good diet. I recently weighed 14stone but by cutting down my food intake i managed to drop 6 pounds in two weeks which really pleased me.

However i decided to try the Cambridge diet to speed things up quickly as i have an important even to attend in April (with lots of old school friends who only know the skinny me) but i have to say after 3 days i just gave up it made me feel terrible and constantly thinking about food which i have never done before! and i just didn't seem to lose anything really.

So i still have about 3 stone that i want to lose, ideally in the next 4 months and would be really greatful for any suggestions )

2 meal diet


it really depends on what you diet is like just now. if your really comitted then try this.....

2 meal diet -

have a low fat breakfast like weatabix or porridge in the morning (this should keep you going)

you can eat as much fruit and veg as you like throught the day and have one good meal at dinner time.

the meal should be a decent size and have 3 main things like fish, potatos and a veg for example. or chicken/turkey ect. a good wholesome meal (this should keep you going until breakfast)

if you stick to this and do a 30 minute exercise routine each night/day the weight will fall off. good luck!!

hi all i had my little boy in jan and from that day i was determined t shed my baby weight and i must say it went really well i was eating a healty cereal in the morning snackin on fruit ,cereal bars,susi, rice crackers ,ect .. then 4 lunch fish ,chicken,wit salard or veg the weight just fell off i cut out caffiene,bread full stop and potatoes on a odd occassion im now weighing 8 stone from nearly ten i eat now comftably as long as im workng the bad things off i can still enjoy i think your best t stick t your heathly eating rather than diet youl end up hating that only makes me run t the frigde more drink plenty of water too drinking a big glas b4 dinner can make you feel fuller x

No cambridge

it seems rather dangerous to go under 1000 calories a day. I follow stopwatch nutrition and i've lost 4 stones since september 2008 eating very well and good. You can have explanations on web. i am ready to help you if you want but please,no cambridge.

tried loads of diets!!

The best one for a quick fix that I have ever done is The Master Cleanse.
Did it week on week off for about 8 weeks and managed to lose near on 3 stone - BUT I have since put it all back on and its can seriously damage your internal organs. If you want to do it as a quick fix then do it - its really hard for the 1st 2 days....lots of headaches but guaranteed to work.
Another good one is the 7 day Souper Cabbage Diet which you can buy from Holland and Barrett - I lost a stone on that over a week and you actually get to eat. I'd probably go with this one as its easier to maintain once you come off it.
If you hunt on the intenet you can download a pdf on the Master Cleanse - But I know it like the back of my hand if you want more info on it.
It is only for a quick fix though and it can be pretty dangerous if you overdo it.

Hi, I totally understand - just started the Cambridge Diet yesterday - last night all I could think of was food - however, woke up this morning jumped on the scales and have lost 3Lb's!!

Guess what I am doing day 2 can't wait for tomorrow morning to see how much I've lost

Lost 8 stone 8lbs and counting...

Over the last year i've lost almost 9 stone. You can see how fat i was in my profile picture!!

I tried all the faddy diets and for me , they simply didnt work fast enough. The only thing that got my weight coming down fast , safely and consistently was to try the fat loss for idiots diet.

Its all about eating the right thing at the right times , and doesnt rely on starving your body of Carbs / calories and even FAT!. (Believe it or not , reducing fat in your diet can actually slow the dieting process down , because your body NEEDS essential fats to work properly and fuel the processes which take place in a diet).

I cant recommend this diet any more , and although it cost me like 20 pounds (it was in dollars , 30 dollars or something , not sure what the exchange rate is) it was well worth the money and i can safely say has changed my life.

My husband and kids arent complaining either , i can actually go out and do stuff with them now !
