Golower diet

I have been following Golower for a month and have lost a stone! This is a diet wih real food made from natural ingredients, it gives you great weight loss and bags more energy. All the food is delivered to your door, nut bars, soups and dinners like chicken curry, beef and onion meatballs, chicken in a white wine sauce. No weekly weigh-ins (which I hate) great support at the end of the phone, sustainable as your pallet changes so you no longer crave sweet things. They have a website www.golower.co.uk if anyone wants to check it out. I really cannot recommend this diet highly enough. If anyone has any questions - just ask.

Golower diet

I have just completed my first day on the diet, and I am extremely pleased. The food is delicious and I have not felt hungry in between meal times at all. I am normally a bit fussy where food is concerned and I suffer from a lot of food allergies. I did wonder about the soup at lunch time when I saw the gorgeous colour green!!! But it was scrummy. Maybe the cost is a little pricey but then so are other diets, and not as good as value as the Golower diet. Also I have been dieting on and off for many years, and I have wasted a lot of money by being despondent on liquid diets and ending having them go out of date in my food cupboard! I also have two friend who have achieved great results with this diet.

Golower

I'm was considering LL until your post on Golower, I had never heard of the diet and promptly checked out their website. What appeals to me that it is real food, must confess that the thought of living on LL shakes for weeks on end was a worry bead for me. So many thanks for your post as I now feel that I have an option that will suit me. I've got 5 stone to lose and have tried other diets in the past (haven't we all ! ), am hoping Golower will get me off to a great start. How are you finding the diet now; feeling good & seeing results?

Loving go lower

Hey, I did LL last year and I hated it, just don't have the will power to live on shakes. Have you started Go Lower? The meals are really good and once you get into ketosis you don't feel hungry. Xx

The cost

I am not surprised that the cost of this diet is even higher than LL even harder to justify with a family to feed, I am buying LL through ebay. I admit though it must be bliss to have your food delivered but whats to stop you over eating/ eating two packs, any compulsive eater knows that nothing stops them, with all the best support in the world.
This must be great if you are single and have no one else to cook for, when my family have dinner I go out for a walk and have LL soup when I get back.

Lighter life warning

I was so happy with LIghter Life! I stuck to the plan for the 14 weeks without cheating, and lost 4 stone. Fantastic. BUT even sticking to the maintenance afterwards, I have gained 3 stone back in a year, suffered severe hair loss and now have been diagnosed with gallstones and am awaiting an operation to remove my gallbladder. My GP says that all these things are a result of the VLCD (very low calorie diet). While it had amazing effects (I went from a size 20 to a size 12 in 14 weeks), I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Cheaper alternative

Hi selanchocolate,
i have found a great alternative in diet chef, it is much cheaper than LL andGolower at 47.50 a week. www.dietchef.co.uk
I have been on there program for about 6 weeks and the food tastes great. My kids keep on stealing my bars which never happened with LL!!

good luck with your diet.

Dietchef

hi i was thinking about trying diet chef how are you getting on with it how is the food and if im not being rude how much have you lost so far i have done lighterlife meeting is too far away this sounds great

Diet chef

Hi, did you try it? I'm thinking of trying it too. My sister suggested I try Lighter Life, but I don't believe in eating food that's not real and I'm sure it would be depressing.

I remember having some Cambridge Diet shakes and bars a long time ago and they were revolting and very high in sugar and the so-called 'counselling' just amounted to being badgered by the really annoying couple who were selling it locally. Just because something has all the vitamins in it, doesn't mean they are combined in the right way as they are in natural food. Vitamins act synergistically a lot of the time.

Diet Chef seem to do the sort of food I like. My only concern is that I would prefer not to microwave things so I've just emailed them to see if it's possible to cook/heat their food in other ways.
