I started the Cambridge diet on January 9th by April I had lost my weight, my total weight loss to date is 3 stone and 1 lb, weight now 10 stone . I followed the diet by every word. First week I found the hardest and on the first day struggled with some flavours. Like anything once I tried and tested the different one's soon found out what I didn't like and what I did, I hated the shakes you had to mix, I swapped these for the ready made chocolate and banana and had soup for dinner, most flavours are great. I told my friends and family that I was going on this diet and that I would be anti social for how ever long it takes and they understood, I did not want to be tempted. Water intake like you to me was boring and I forced myself to drink at least 4 pints throughout the day. I filled 4 x 500ml(lucozde sports bottle was good) bottles of water and put these in the fridge ready for use. This also helped me to keep a check on my water intake. They do a orange/blackcurrent powder to add to water really nice both flavours. Water is the important factor in this diet, gets rid of ketones. My motivator was weigh in and I lost 6lbs what regular diet can give you that. 4 weeks at total sole source don't be tempted to have anything as it won't do you any favours. After 2 weeks you can have a cambridge choc bar(didn't like all of them but it will be personal choice), at four weeks you can add a meal but again this will be strictly white meat/fish and green veg/salad. I went to Florida for 2 weeks and had add a meal and lost 4 lb. The cambridge diet has given me back my self confidence, I kept reminding myself why I was on this diet in the first place, get your photos out. Soon people were saying how fantastic I looked and now my counselor has them queing up to join in because they have seen my success. My willpower normally is non existent but the results kept me going. Now wearing size 10/12 clothes and 3 months after goal n I still eat sensibly with the occasional treat(lifes short!) but I love what I've achieved so I wish you all the luck, I loved this diet. Just remember the hardest bit is only short term. xx

hi there!
as a cambridge counsellor i really would not take the risk. one person may be seeming to get away with it but they may not be and some people go very easily out of ketosis. for many people even the slightest amount of extra carbohydrate (and all oxo's contain them it doesn't make any diff whether veg or meat!) can send the out of ketosis-halt the fat-burning process making weightloss much slower. they also contain extra calories. there is a cambridge vegetable flavour hot drink which doesn't effect ketosis but even that should be limited in quantity. once you get to the end of the 3rd day you should be in ketosis-tho with oxo cubes you may never get there-and i promise you it will get easier and the hunger should subside too. it is hard but stick with it and you will see fab results when you weigh-in!
