Go for it chloe
Well it's been my first week and I lost 8lb but I do think as with any diet you really need to be in the right frame of mind to do it and personally I'd got to the point where I felt I really must lose the weight so I was determined to go for it so stuck ridgedly to it the first few days were headachey and tired but after that it seemed easy I have the porridge for breakfast a shake for lunch and soup for evening meal and of course 2.25ltrs of water a day along with lots of black tea or coffee which I quite like. I think it better to have the variation rather than just shakes or you easily get bored of it and the counsellor keeps a close eye on you healthwise so not a problem.
Good luck!!

Hey
Hiya Chloe, I started the diet on Monday and I didnt feel hungry at all but had very bad headaches and felt rubbish all day. I drank lots of water....More than enough but still felt ill. I went to sleep monday night and was vomiting all through the night and next morning. I came off the diet for tuesday as i really did feel ill and extremely weak. I have started it again today as i do not want to give up and so far i feel fine. The shakes i have had are nasty but Im hoping i will get used to them. My friend has justy finished the diet and has lost 5stone so it definately must be good. I would suggest giving it a go then you can atleast say you tried.

Cambridge diet
Hi Chloe, I have been on the Cambridge Diet for 4 weeks, i must admit it is difficult getting used too. But i think to myself if you can do this you can do anything....i have lost 20lbs in the 4 weeks and ive dropped from an 18 to 14/16, i still have 3 stone to lose as i want to be a comfortable size 12. I have just also come back from a week in Spain and i ate lots of salad as you do when your abroad and i also drank a lot while i was away. I had put 3lbs on and in 2 days of being back on the diet i lost 4lbs. So i am determined to get the rest off. I would definatley recommend this diet not only does the weight drop off you in weeks but i also feel healthy. Im never hungry apart from the time of the month which i think most women would agree. Now the down side.....you do have to drink about 5litres of water a day, which i dont mind but if you don't like water it could be difficult. You can come across some head aches but if you drink the correct amount of water you can avoid this. Good luck with the diet and let me know how you get on. x

My first day
Hi Chloe,
I am just wondering how your first few days have been??
I have started the CD diet today, and its been realy tough, a friend of mine did it last year and the results were really good, although its natural to jump on the scales to see if your losing weight, try not too, because you may see that your losing inches rather then pounds.
I am hoping to go get down from 12.7 stones to 9.5, which seems a lot...
I remeber when my friend did the diet she used to drink sparkling flavoured waterwhilst doing the sole source (just shakes 3/4 timesa day) could anybody let me know if this is still ok to do.. and also f we are allowed to drink black coffee??
All your replies will be appreciated.. gudluck evryone ;o)

About to start cambridge diet
hi chloe,
hows it goin? have you started your diet yet?
i go for my first weigh-in tomorrow. looking forward to it.
i have craved for normal food all week. its really hard but i think what has kept me going is the fact that i have forked out a load of money to do this diet so if i cheat, im only cheating myself.
warning - ive got a disgusting taste in my mouth. i dont know if its toxins coming out or what but its foul. havent had a chance to go and buy some breath freshener yet.
my first target was to lose 4 stone but the thought of that was putting me off so i have changed it to 2.5 stone then i will monitor my situation and see if i want to carry on. 2.5 sounds a lot more achievable at the moment than 4 stone.
my mate who is doing this diet has suffered badly with constipation so be warned!!
ive tried all the soup flavours and didnt like any so gonna stick to the milkshakes. at least they are nice.
you can also drink peppermint tea and green tea (plain).
have had a few cups of black tea and coffee. if you stick loads of sweetners in it its bearable.
all in all, its the toughest diet ive done, but the only one ive ever stuck to and not cheated.
let me know how you get on.

Its great! so far!
Hi There! I started the Cambridge diet 10 days a go!! I have lost 11.2 pounds already!! I think its great but i cant stay at 3 shakes/soups a day, i have to add in a bit of chicken. The first couple of days are the hardest and you are always thinking about food that you cant have!! But after that, you get usd to it and i promise if you stick at it you will see a great result in the first week!! Hope to hear how you are, how you get on etc! Hannahx

Cambridge diet
Hi chloe I have just finished my 1st week on the cambridge diet and I have lost 11 and a half pounds. It is really hard when you start for about the first two days when you think you are never going to be able to do this but then it gets easier and you start to feel really good.I find that what works for me is just imagining how good it will be when I can fit into size 12 jeans again. I am abit heavier than you. I was 15 stone when I started but I too want to get down to 9 stone. I did a lot of research before starting it and I think that it is safe.My sister did it last year successfully but she only had 1 and a half stone to lose but she gave me lots of tips on how to make it work which help.In the past I have tried almost every other diet going which werent successful but I really think that I am going to be able to do it this time! It is hard to start with and at times you think you could kill for a bit of bread!! but as someone who was a chocoholic and couldnt eat just one packet of crisps at atime - if I can manage it I am sure you can AND when you lose some weight it makes you feel so good. GO FOR IT and if I can help you at all then contact me.
Becky.

Newbie
Hi.
I have just started the Cambridge Diet on Tuesday and have stuck to it like mad! Having 3shakes a day and just water for fluid. Also going to the gym 3-4 times a week. My goal is to be a size 14 and currently i am a size 16. I did the mistake of weighing myself today (thursday) and regret it, because i have lost no weight. Any suggestions to make me go on with the diet?

Cambridge diet
Hi, i started my cambridge diet on tuesday! when went to see my consellour she told me not 2 exercise in the first 2weeks! They reason why you havent lost weight is because you are going to the gym 3-4 times a week which is building up your muslces which weights more than fat! If i was you i would speak to your consellour to see if its ok to go to the gym but mine said to not do any for the first two weeks! also i havent weighed myself because i want to see a better result at the end of the week!
so if i was you i would stop the gym for abit and hide your scales!

Thanks i needed a reply like that!
Ah thanks for you reply. 11 pounds and a half, wow! Well i hope i'll lose that much in my first week! I think if i can get past the first week i'll be ok, if i lose some weight in the first week it will motivate me to keep going. I have done soooo many diets in the past! I hope this one will work. Is it like the slimfast diet? I tried that, managed a grand total of 4 days lol I have always been happy with the way i am, i mean i've always wanted to be thinner but my weight has never been a big issue to me. Untill recently. I started working for bands so i'm out alot in London at gigs, after show parties kill me! everyone is very thin and i'm constantly the fat one that stands out. It doesn't help that my best friend i do it with is also very thin, i notice how people treat me different to her. So i am now determined to lose weight! I'm also a chocoholic and i love bread! but i think if i can get past the first week i'll be ok. Hopefully i won't cave in to all of the things my friends and my mum says. Thanks that's cheered me up

You can do it
It is a bit like the slimfast diet with shakes and bars but its also a bit like the atkins diet where you are eating a lot of protein and not much carbohydrate.Get some of the chocolate tetra bricks which you can use a bit of with boiling water as hot chocolate drinks. Also if you are really desperate to eat something and think you are likely to cheat - think of the atkins diet and eat protein like eggs, meat, fish etc but dont eat carbohydrates. After 2 weeks you can have the bars and they do have chocolate on them. I also find the water flavourings that you can get from the counsellor are good. GOOD LUCK

Can't wait!
Oh that sounds good. I think my main problem with the slimfast diet was that i hated the soups and cold stuff never fills me up, hot stuff does though. If i have craving for food i'll have to just get through it, if i start to eat something other than whats on the diet i wil over eat i know it! The bars sound nice I don't know if i'll be ok with the water though because you have to drink so much and you wee all the time which just isn't pratical at work. Also, i emailed my local counsellor and she said i'd have to have a medical thingy. Did you have to have that? and what was it like?
Hows it going for you at the moment?

It will be fine
I didnt have a medical just told my counsellor that i had oked it with doctor. You ought to try to start the diet when you have a few days off and then you can be near a loo - after the first few days it gets easier and you dont need the loo quite so much. I thought when I started that I would want savoury things more as apart from chocolate I dont go that much for sweet milk shake things but now I seem to have gone off savoury and use the banana and chocolate tetra bricks and use the mix a mousse stuff to make fruit mousses which seems to work for me. I also have the odd bite of meat or fish or cheese which doesnt seem to have done me any harm this week!Keep some cold meat in fridge for a nibble.I do have fantasys though for a bit of french stick or a crisp but then I have a sip of water and think of me in size 12 jeans and everything is great. The main things that I miss at the moment are chocolate crisps bread tomato sauce and fruit.

Sounds good so far
Yeah i think i'll do that. Yeah i was also thinking about savoury things because i love savoury stuff alot but i guess i'll get used to it. I know i'll forever be thinking of bread, meat and bagels lol i think i'll be able to cope with it though if i get past week one ok.

Regucol
I've found that Regucol is really good for constipation. Add a pinch to soups and shakes but be careful - if you add too much it turns into a kind of sludge! But it nicely thickens up the liquids - I always put more water in than I'm supposed to as I find the shakes a bit over-sweet otherwise. It's pure fibre so it doesn't enter your system (zero calorie).
