I have cheated on the cambridge diet - help!

Hi there,

I am on day 5 of the cambridge diet and have lost around 5lbs already, however i left my shakes at home and by lunch time to day i caved as i was tired and ate half a sandwich and a packet of crisps, i feel really sick and guilty and i dont know what to do!
Has this rediculous act ruined my diet and knocked me out of ketosis?
Will i put the weight back on if my metabolism slows? Can anyone who has been doing this for a while offer any advice and also i need some motivation and any tips that you can recommend.

Feeling disapointed and sick

Carrie

Day 6

Now on day 6 of cambridge diet. Not been a good week get weighed tomorrow and i'm dreading it. Hate drinking water and have cheated slightly and yes it does make you feel guilty. Yesterday was the worst, had a piece of ham,few crisps and about 4 squares of choc, but I did go to the gym which made me feel so much better. Hope I've lost abit of weight

Don't worry

Hi there I think we have all been in the same boat at one point or another. Try not to worry too much and just finish the week.
I cheated on week 3 and ate ham rolls and had a cup of tea with milk, I too felt full of guilt and thought I would do damage to my weight loss and I probably did as I only lost 3lbs that week. This taught me a lesson and I am determined to lose as much weight as poss before May so I've had a great week this week (week 4) and am looking forward to my weigh-in tonight.
Just remember you are only human and we all have blips, unless we have superhuman willpower.
Try and keep a stash of shakes in your bag at all times then you won't get caught short or just have a really big glass of water it will make you feel full.
good luck x

Thanks

I feel really annoyed at myself and i think you are right it will teach me a lesson for future temptations.
My weigh in is on weds do fingers crossed!!
Thanks for your words of wisdom, how much weight have you lost in total for the four weeks?
My target is my holiday and my best friends wedding im June - so have time to rectify things!

No probs

Hi again.
i'm not sure they are words of wisdom, I can only let you know from my own experiences.
I have lost 2olbs in 4 weeks so am really pleased. I'm trying to lose weight for a holiday too but have a long way to go and my holiday is only 10 weeks away.
I started off as a size 22/24 and have just bought some size 20 clothes so i'm heading in the right direction thankfully.
I'm on my add a meal week and had turkey and steamed broccoli for tea which i enjoyed but it has made me feel a bit sick having food in my stomach.
Let me know how you get on weds and good luck, try not to dwell on your little mishap I'm sure you'll be fine. I'll have my fingers crossed for you x
