Cambridge dieters join here
i read through about us all just starting the cambs diet or about to start...you have to keep clicking back pages to read other peoples reviews,,cant we all be on the same page and support each other all together? we are all in the same boat and can interact with one another all on one page? doesnt that sound easier. well i am 25 12.12stone when i started on tue the 2nd of jan 2007,,,,5 days in and i am 12.5 thats 7lb,RESULT. i have atleast another 3 stone to loose,,,help me,,,help you, help eachother.. i have done this diet before but give up when i found i was pregnant. the first 3-4 days are the hardest withdrawal symtoms,,mainly headaches,i kept yourself busy away from food but didnt do too much exercise as that makes you hungrey so stayed clear of that for the first week,,i find a big must is drink plenty of WATER,with or without flavourings, it does make you loose more,,,you can have sparliking water aswell,,,,my tip for today is instead of buying the savoury flavour drink from cambs councilor (£6)buy tesco vegatable boulion green with yellow lid i think marigold make it *(£1.40),,it is exactly the same,,,,believe me i was gonna be a cambs councilor but as i said i found i was pregnant.. Good luck to you all,,hope to hear from you, remember measure is just as important as weighing, kind regards want2Bslim

so excited- i start today....after a long battle that is!
Well, finally after about 6 weeks of fighting i've won my case!!
When my councellor asked me before i'd started if i had any past of an eating disorder- i answered honestly- that i had been bullimic when i was 15, for about 6 months. I'm now 21, and have never gone back to it.. She had to ask head office, to make sure it would be ok, and they said no- i wouldnt be able to do the diet with them.. I was gutted.. but i understood and thought it was ultimately just for my safety, and to cover their backs..which is fair enough really. But i was set on this.. I decided to talk to my doctor, and he wrote me a letter, which i sent with a letter explaining why i wanted to do it, and that i have had no relapses for over 5 years!!...and guess what.. they said ok!! - so this news i got yesturday, and im now starting today!!
If i had had more notice i would have cut out carbs by now.. i think bread is going to be toughest for me not to have in my life..esp. around my period...!
i am 15 stone .. 5'8.. so by september im hoping to be 12 stone.. then form there decide where im happy with my body. I would just love to be in that " healthy bracket "on the chart for the first time since i can remember. To be happy with my body is just so exciting.
WISH ME LUCK!
LAUREN X

Hello
ok this is my first post on this site so please bare with me. Im Kelly im 17 and starting the diet tommorow. i got my 1st appointment at 3 pm today. I just realy need to ask someone what they actualy TASTE like. i wont be drinking plain water as i dont like it, but weil be drinking flavoured water, does this affect the weight loss atall? im aproximately 12 stone, and going back down to 10 as im only 5"3 and obese for my age. i have been accepted by my doctor to do the diet, so before i get people saying about my age and all i am allowed to do it. i want to know how much i am expected to loose, and what kind of things affect it.(other than the obviosu cheating) im dreadint the diet as i love to eat, and i will find it difficult, as i normaly eat healthily as it is, with meals of meat and veg or salads. my mum is also going on it and she has already lose a lot of weight on the lipotrim diet, and has now put on almst 2 stone, so wants to get it back off,so shed like to know a few things to. so can anyone help me with theese queires? thanks kelly

Hi there
Hi kelly
Im in to day 4 of the diet and i just weighed and lost 9lbs so im feeling very proud of my little self - or large self he he. I rekon the taste thing is down to personal taste. Im a chocoholic and actually really like the choccy shakes but i don't like the chocolate mint for some reason. I also only like the banana so im sticking with those 2 at the moment. I tried the bar things and i almost threw up but then others on here seem to like them. I find that the less variety i give myself at this stage the better but then again its very personal. My diet was so high in sugar and fat that i found one tasty food triggered my to fancy a contrasting tasty food - seet then savoury - and then i would think about the taste all the time and the cravings woudl get the better of me and so on .... Im just trying to re-educate my taste buds and cravings and need a brain rest right now.
I wish you good luck and you will get plenty of support on here.

Aahhh day 4 disappointment
Hi
I am also on day four of the cambridge diet and have suprised myself by sticking to it religiously and drinking at least 2 litres of water a day which given my lack of will power and craving for gin and tonic has been nothing short of a mircle! I was feeling really good about everything and decided to pop on the scales earlier to see what progress I had made and I have lost nothing!! Thats right - not even a pound!! I am soooo disappointed now I feel like all this denial has been for nothing - help!

Well done cheryl
Hi Cheryl my name is Toni and i'm on my 2nd week of Cambridge diet. Have found it suprisingly ok so far and I'm rubbish at diets. I lost 8lbs in my 1st week and 2 inches off waist and hips so was really pleased. It's really encouraging to read the messages on this site and have been looking regularly to c how people are getting on. I have got a long way to go, I'm a size 22/24 and would like to get to at least a 16 but am quite determined as going on hols in May and would like to shed quite a lot of it by then. Did you do the add a meal week every 4 weeks or stick to sole source? If so did it slow down your loss?

Help! advice needed!
Ive been on the cambridge diet for 3 days now. To be honest Im finding it ok. The food replacements are easy and I havent been hungry and i dont feel the need to eat. Therefore im confident this diet is going to work for me. However. I honestly do not think I am going to beable to go without alcohol. Food isnt an issue for me. Alchohol is! I dont drink beer or wine. But i do like gin. Now gin has about 60 calories a serving but 0g of fat and 0g of carbs. Diet tonic as about 2 calories and 0g fat and 0g carbs. Is it going to totally ruin my weight loss if I have say 3 or 4 gin and tonics on a weekend. I dont drink through the week but i can not see how Im going to resist a drink on the weekend. Id rather give up one of my food sachets then give up a drink! I know you all prob think its silly not being able to go without but its the weekend and for me its going to very depressing on the water all weekend. What can be in it apart from the calories that will stop me from losing wieght? Surely if its got 0 carbs in it cant affect my ketosis? Id appreciate your thoughts?

Started cambridge jan 10th
Hi Im 21 years old and weighed in at 14 stones 10 pounds, You can imagine how horrified I was !!
My Grandmother suggested Cambridge as she had done it in the late 80's as she had gone up to 18 stones she went done to 10 stones in just over 6 months and has not put any of it back on been almost 20 years now.
so arranged to see counseller and started it the next week I have so far lost 11 pounds in 11 days which im pleased with.
I cannot stand the milkshakes i think they are vile so now just sticking to the choc tetra bricks and soups and drinking 3 litres a day.
I have not once felt hungry and have not suffered head aches as my counseller told me to cut down on carbs the week before to prevent this so really happy with her advice.
I wish everyone luck and hopefully we can all kiss the fat person we dont want to be goodbye once and for all!!
