Back pain

Hi everyone
I am 34 and have suffered from recurring back pain since 2003. Each episode gets longer and longer before the symptoms go away, and at the moment I have been in pain every day pretty much for 10 months. I have been to physios, osteopath, chiropractor, masseur, acupuncture, and tried relaxtion techniques and stretching myself at home but to little long term relief.
I have been told I have poor posture which I constantly try to correct. I have done pilates for 2 years, until it started to aggravate my back, and now am doing Scaravelli yoga.
I take pain killers on a daily basis and can't sit down for more than an hour before the pain starts up. Some days it's worse than others but I am starting to get really worried that I will never get properly better.
I work in PR which is a stressful job so I started freelancing instead to cut down my hours. The trouble is all the work is in London and I live in Hove so it's 2 hours door to door. The train journeys are no good for my back at all and recently I've been in big pain before I even start the day at 9am!!
Can anyone offer me another viewpoint / has anyone had similar experiences to me? No one seems to understand my relentless day in day out pain so most of the time I simply get on with it - painkillers, hot water bottles, stretching, over and over.

I eat a healthy diet, take vitamins, and am 5'3"", weighing 8 1/2 stone. The only rubbish things I do really are getting too stressed out and I smoke.

Thanks for reading and I hope to hear back from somebody soon.

Back pain patches

Dear Vicky,

Believe it or not I also have back problems & I am working in PR.
I'm French, but working in London since October.

I am suffering from back problems since I'm a teenager. It's not as serious as yours but I think I can help.
At the beginning, I went to osteopath, chiropractor just as you did. Then I tried several treatments. But one day I was fed up with all these pills.
I chose natural treatments, patches more precisely. When my back is hurting (less and less often) I use a patch, from the Hao Pi brand. I discovered it while still in France. But they have a GB website as well (http://www.patch-haopi.co.uk). You can order a free sample.
I also use their stress relief bracelets (yes PR is really a stressfull job).

For back pain

I hope this helps you because it already help many persons in their back pain problem.

This might help you vicky..

Have you tried a 'Tens machine'
My husband suffers terrible pain due to a disability which has left him wheelchair bound and finds the 'Tens machine' very helpful indeed. You should be able to get one via your GP by being refered to your local hospital...
If thats no help there is always a hot bubblebath and calming music to soften the daily stresses of life...
Bless...
