On the same boat
Hi
I have been on the Implant for 5 years now (new one every 3) and I suffer from a period that lasts 3 months at a time, I have been reassured time and time again "it's normal", however, I read an article in a magazine with a woman also on the implant, same symptoms as myself and apparently the implant works by thinning the lining of your woman making it harder for eggs to attach thus no pregnancy can occur, however, sometimes it can cause it to thin TOO much! Which means your womb is the equivalent of a 70 years olds which results in HRT treatment and possible surgery to correct it. After reading this, I am having it removed next month and will only use condoms, I refuse to abuse my natural reproductive organs any longer, I feel angered though that I was never informed that this IS a possibility as I now have to question how this will affect my ability to conceive if the lining has become too thin how will eggs EVER be able to attach? I'm very worried, I just thought that I have an obligation as a woman to pass this NEW scary info along to anyone else that has one of these 'things' in their arm Best of luck.
