Cerazette - anyone coming off it?

Hi all. Just wondered if anyone has stopped taking the Cerazette pill recently and if so what side effects have you had. I stopped it the end of Jan 07 and I now seem to have every pregnancy sign going! After no period (never had any when I was on it!) and 2 neg tests I have made an appointment to see the doc on Wednesday but wonder if its worth it as I'm sure I'll be told its my hormones - any experiences valued!

Coming off cerazette

hi i have come off this pill.... i'm not trying for a baby ... as i'm single but just wanted to et my body back to normal . i have felt awful since coming off cerazette a few weeks ago. I work out lot so have an ok body but in the last few weeks my belly is so bloated i look pregnat my boobs are so sore and my belly really hurts. I know im not pregmant as i have been stiring clear of men for the past few months but if i has been sleeping with someone i would of taken a test to see if i was pregnat .... has any one else been through this ? and how long does it last ?? i hoped i would feel better and lose weight not look and feel worse !!

Your story sounds just like mine, I too, single and was in cerazette for a couple of years and had absolutely no problems until the beginning of summer when my boobs began to get very sore and more and more frequent to the poiont I couldnt bare it - so decided to give me body a break as I had been on different pills for many many years - I have no children and in no relationship at the moment so figured it would be the ideal time to try and get my body back to "normal" - well its not happening - my body too is bloated, boobs are even worse and Im still waiting for a period after 5 weeks, although I do know this could take time.
Have you had any advice back you could share with me, I feel really terrible but dont particularly want to try many more different pills once again which can take months/even years to get right and in line with your body.

I'm 17 and i'm on Cerazette i have been for well over 6 months now and ive had some very strange outcomes of it, not like most who's periods stopped mine have doubled and got heavier, im now on twice a month for over 8 days and there really painful and heavy, i also get really emotional for no reason, only the other week i started crying and shouting at my partner because he put his glass down in the wrong place, and im not like that at all, its also effecting y levels being a diabetic as when im on they effect it due to more hormones, so i feel like im just messing up my body with extra hormones effecting my diabetes and im now having to take iron tablets coz im loosing tht much blood.
Before going on Cerazette i had the lightest periods ever i didnt even know when i was coming on as i had no pains what so ever now i know 3 days before and get terrible mood swings. ive also started loosing weight and geting bad headaches and abdominal pains, but i know i carnt be pregnant coz im on twice a month.

does any one have any suggestions, coz i dont want to go back to condoms and i dont want an IUD.

I came off cerazette 3and a half weeks ago and still no period, I was also still breastfeeding at the time, but have been stopped that for 1and a half weeks and thought I would come off after finishing. We had unprotected sex the day after i came off the pill, thinking I would be ok and now still have no period! I've already done a pregnancy test which was neg, but it took until I was 5weeks preg with my daughter before it showed up on a test. But I agree with all you girls, I just feel pregnant, sore boobs, so tired and pains in my uterus! I was fine on it, no bleeding or side effects. We really want another baby and hope this hasn't caused any fertility problems. So nice to hear though that others have the same symptoms, i've been so worried!!

i came off cerazette last year after i gained a bit of weight, and i split up with my ex partner, i didnt get any headaches or anything. i did try another pill but this made me ill so my gp put me back on cerazette and its fine for me, when i first started on cerazette i was worried that i never had a period but ive now got used to it, i do get bloated occasionly but i just stp taking it for a few days and then it goes away.

my gp also put me back on cerazette as when i came off it i had terrible period pains that would keep me in bed for days, and now they have gone now imbak on cerazette.

oh my god, i cant belive what im reading here,

i have just come off cerazette after 3 month i though i was going to die, i have four children and was getting really worried cos i though i was expecting again 2 and my partner was getting a bit worried too,
i felt sick constant headaches no energy so lathargic it wasnt nice at all, my last period was easter sunday not seen one since,
im now thinking of trying the copper coil, i would like to get sterillised but my partner says if i do change my mind and want more kids its going to be a long haul.

im so glad that its not just me thats feels alienated !!!

I stopped taking cerazette after 3 months of none stop bleeding, and for the past 2 weeks i have seriously believed i was pregnant, although it would of been an immaculate conception, i was worried all the same, my breasts are sooooo painful, the tiredness is abnormal, the nausea and dizziness is horrid! so glad i found this forum, feel a whole lot better now!!! thank you ladies

What a nightmare!!

I'm 18 and just about to stop taking Cerazette after being on it for just about a month. I've had a lot of hair loss with it and a week of very...VERY heavy bleeding (which is still going with no sign of slowing down). I have no idea when i will stop bleeding, it's draining me emotionally as well as physically.
I've been to the doctors and we have discussed my options (they are very limited becuase my mum had DVT 10 years ago so they won't let me go on the combined pill). She has said that I can stop takng Cerazette and try Implanon, but now hearing what can happen when you do stop taking cerazette, i'm wondering whether to carry on with it???
Oh god! why does contraception have to be so complicated??!?! x x

hi. i was taking cerrazette for just over a year and i stopped 3 days ago... after a was suddenly having side effects that were looking like i was pregnant. i had sore and swollen boobs. slight stomach cramps and sickness. but the whole time i was on cerrazette i didnt have a single period ..after 4 negative pregnancy tests and one from the doctor i decided to come off it... and came on my period today (on the 3rd day) of not taking it which supprised me after most people said it had taken months for theirs to return. me and my partner have decided to start tryin for a baby after reading that it can take upto 6 months for it to get out of your system. i have read lot and lots of forums posts and im worried that im goin to either not be able to get pregnant or miscarry after lots of people have said they had after 6 weeks of being pregnant. is there anything i could do to increase my chance of gettin pregnant or lower the risk of misscarrige?

Really interesting to read this discussion, because I came off Cerazette about two weeks ago and I feel really pregnant now. I was thinking about buying a test, but reading this discussion makes me think it's just the side affects of coming off the pill (phew!)- quite scary to think how big the side effects are! Whilst I was on Cerazette I had no periods and a really low sex drive, which I found really odd as this has never been a problem before. I decided to come off because I wanted to have a period and feel normal again- well still no period, and I definately do not feel normal! I have been really tired and nauseous, as well as feeling really bloated in my abdomen and really aware of my uterus (Odd)! I had a few cramps as well in the first week, and I am now getting lower back pain! It also feels like I'm peeing more oftern. So you can see why I was going to buy a pregnancy test! My sex drive has come back a bit already, but I am still waiting for a period, I never thought I'd be pleased about having one! Really good to hear what others had been through- I had no idea the pill affected your sex drive until I read an online discussion, this all explains alot! I wish there was something a bit more natural that could be used to prevent pregnancy without all the fuss that condoms bring!

Coming off cerazette

Hi ladies, I just came off Cerazette a few days ago after taking it for about 6 months. My periods were absolutely fine, a lot less painful than before I was taking it but still lasting the same amount of time, etc. Apart from this month, I had cramp and sore boobs for ages and then I was at work, standing up and there was just a MASSIVE gush of blood :S (sorry, I know that's probs a bit of an overshare) which lasted a couple of hours, then I didn't have ANY bleeding for a couple of days and then it was just bits here and there after that.

I thought that was really bizarre so I've decided to come off. Nothing has really happended in the few days I've been off it, but today I've been feeling really queezy and my lower abdomen is really swollen and I have a cramp like pain???

Anyway, keep me posted and I'll do the same.

Stopped taking cerazettte tow months ago

I was on it for two years. I've been off it for nearly two months now, as i felt like it would do my hormones 'good'- Mistake! ive had period pains and sore breasts, but no sign of anything. I had light spotting when on cerazette, but nothing anymore. Im thinking of going back to using it, as the turmoil my body seems to be going through now is far more irritating than light bleeds!! Also would like advice!!!

hi all, i came off cerazette after only bein on it for 2 weeks,i should really have given it time to settle down but i cant believe how this pill can make you feel, i felt like godzilla on this, anyway girlies i understand how u r all feelin as wehen i stopped it 3 weeks ago i had a few days of slight bleedin and then nothin, i feel soooooooooooo pregnant even thou i no im not!! just like you plenty of tests!! all i can say is that this pill plays havoc with ya hormones, does any1 have any idea how long it takes 4 your cycle 2 return 2 normal?? would appreciate any feedback, love nikkixx

hi i came off on 22nd feb on that same pill i had no periods while taking it which my doc said that could happen.anyway i ad a period 5days later now im still waiting for my period 2 kum as i was meant to on 27th march.ive ad the pains and tender breasts b4 my period but still didnt kum on.ive had 3tests yesterday and 2day all neg and plus i took tests last week 2 but they was neg.
so wen u go docs please can u let me know wot they say id b sooo gratefull.thanku

Stopping cerazette

I stopped taking it a few weeks ago, and my periods came back straight away (as in the next day) but they were really heavy. Before taking it my periods were fairly light, during taking it they were pretty much non-existent.
Think it just messes up your hormones, and everyone reacts in different ways. I'm on another pill now so got all the fun of that to come now!
