| Thread started by: | "Any one take micronor mini pill?" Posted by mrsyehezkel 17 April at 20:25
Hello, i really need help, my Dr just advised me to come off of the combination pill i was taking (microgynon30) becuase i had put on weight whilst on it. He gave me Micronor but i am really scared about taking it, i have read horrible reviews on it, is it likely to give me acne ? I also hate the fact that you will nevere know when your period is, what other good contraception could i use if not this or does anyone take it ? Many thanks

Hello, with reply to your question i have stopped taking Micronor for the second time. I stopped for 5 months and then started taking it again to see if it was the Micronor and it was. I started again and within 3 months the side effects were aparent and i stopped. I was given Micronor because i am over 35 and smoke, i am now quiting smoking so that i can take the combination pill. The side effects i had from the Micronor were severe ache which would spread across the chin and side of the face. But the worst of all was depression and being extremly sensitive. I would burst into tears at the slightest thing said, have very down days where i would feel unwanted and this nearly caused a breakdown of my relationship both with my fiance and my son. I actually thought i was having a early memopause!! i stopped taking Micronor 5 days ago and my ache has cleared and i am back to the cheerful, caring and "normal" debbie. I would never touch Micronor again and im very lucky to have such a understanding partner and son because i made their lives a misery for months. Everyone is different but id rather quit smoking than take Micronor!!!

just read your review and am have very bad systoms of depression before my monthly like you. i went through a bad time in life and was put on anti depression tablet 2 year ago which i now slowly came off. i thought it may be that what was causing my to have these thought. now i wonder if it is micronor which are causing me to go into depression i am very sensitive i am also a smoker but have tried to give up. the doctor has tried different mini pill which i am ok for a while than the depression slowly kick in again. Iam thinking of talking to my doctor after reading reviews on micronor all i know i can;t go on every mth with this. My sex drive has drop slightly also i love my boyfriend so much and he is very understanding my fear is i might lose him if this gets worse. looks like a trip to the GP is my answer.
