Any one take micronor mini pill?

Hello, i really need help, my Dr just advised me to come off of the combination pill i was taking (microgynon30) becuase i had put on weight whilst on it. He gave me Micronor but i am really scared about taking it, i have read horrible reviews on it, is it likely to give me acne ? I also hate the fact that you will nevere know when your period is, what other good contraception could i use if not this or does anyone take it ? Many thanks

Prevention

Time some of you girls made your partners take the lead in contraception?

I know it is an outrageous stance from a 58 year old male - but they must take more responsibility in sex. So many of these drugs are new and little is known about the long term outcome?

Micronor

Hi im replying to your question.... i am on my second blister of this what i think is a pain of a pill !!! i have put on so much weight and havent changed my eating patters even tho im starving all the time!!! i think this is due to micronor, i am going to stop taking it as from now as im sick of being hungry all the time and starving myself due to being so scared of putting anymore weight on!!!
The only good pill i have ever been on is the combined pill but my age and smoking has made it not possible to go back on it,so im just going to use condoms i think from now on...

Micronor mini pill - fine for me

I originally took microgynon which i experienced terrible depression & hair loss on. Since i have been on and off micronor I have never experienced such problems. Never had a problem with weight or acne; my periods are quite regular and only last about 3 / 4 days. Contraceptive pills can strip your body of vital vitamins & minerals particulary zinc; zinc deficiency can cause acne, so maybe supplementing with a good vitamin & mineral supplement in combination with the pill may help if your worried about acne. In any case everyone is different and i guess you'll never know until you try.

Dont trust micronor!!!!

Don't want to scare you, but i was taking micronor for a year or so, and i've just had to have an abortion because i got pregnant while on it. When i went for my scan they said micronor isnt good for women under 40 unless they are using other contraception too. Not knowing when your periods are going to come can be really scary, so i was alert for changes in my body and luckily guessed quite early. But it scares me that i could have carried on for another couple of months unaware.

Other than it's lack of effectiveness, it didnt cause many probs, tho my sex drive seemed to drop.

Am on it

I have been on it for almost a month. Apart from heavy bleeding, all is well with it. I really cannot complain.

Micronor

I have been taking Micronor for the past 5 years as I could no longer take the combined pill because of my age (I am 42). I didn't really have any problems on it, the only thing I did notice were my periods were slightly irregular at the start, but once I had been on it for a while things settled down.
I did put on about half a stone, but this went on gradually and I didn't really notice any difference - I certainly never stopped getting in my clothes!
You do have to take it though every day without a break and roughly at the same time every day - apart from that it has been reliable without all the problems that you read about!

I have stopped taking micronor pill

Hello, with reply to your question i have stopped taking Micronor for the second time. I stopped for 5 months and then started taking it again to see if it was the Micronor and it was. I started again and within 3 months the side effects were aparent and i stopped. I was given Micronor because i am over 35 and smoke, i am now quiting smoking so that i can take the combination pill. The side effects i had from the Micronor were severe ache which would spread across the chin and side of the face. But the worst of all was depression and being extremly sensitive. I would burst into tears at the slightest thing said, have very down days where i would feel unwanted and this nearly caused a breakdown of my relationship both with my fiance and my son. I actually thought i was having a early memopause!! i stopped taking Micronor 5 days ago and my ache has cleared and i am back to the cheerful, caring and "normal" debbie. I would never touch Micronor again and im very lucky to have such a understanding partner and son because i made their lives a misery for months. Everyone is different but id rather quit smoking than take Micronor!!!

did you stop smoking??how long before they will give pill after stopping??

Re micronor

just read your review and am have very bad systoms of depression before my monthly like you. i went through a bad time in life and was put on anti depression tablet 2 year ago which i now slowly came off. i thought it may be that what was causing my to have these thought. now i wonder if it is micronor which are causing me to go into depression i am very sensitive i am also a smoker but have tried to give up. the doctor has tried different mini pill which i am ok for a while than the depression slowly kick in again. Iam thinking of talking to my doctor after reading reviews on micronor all i know i can;t go on every mth with this. My sex drive has drop slightly also i love my boyfriend so much and he is very understanding my fear is i might lose him if this gets worse. looks like a trip to the GP is my answer.

Micronor is not so bad

I took micronor for about a year and i came of it because i got acne and i was loosing a lot of hair. but this happened after a while.
Is a very mild pill try it...It when really well until i started to get a lot of spots.
But be carefull you musnt forget to take your pill. It looses efect very fast unlike the other ones

I

agree. I've 16 and have been on it for 5monthsm i've not had one bleed or pain. It caused bloatedniss in he first few weeks but not experienced it since and all is going well, i strongly recommend this pill!
