Anyone been on microgynon (combined pill) for a long time?

I have been on this pill for over six years and I wondered if anyone had suffered any side effects with it?

I have put on about 3/4 stone since I started it, I'm always tired and I have been more prone to anxiety/depression, but it is only now that I have considered it might be down to the pill?

I had a stressful time when I went on the pill, so just put it down to that, but when I mention weight gain...etc to the nurse, she says that it only causes weight gain and side effects during the first few months - not long term.

Has anyone had any experience of this? My friend came off of the pill a few months ago and immediately dropped half a stone!

Hi, i was on micro 30 for about 13 1/2 years, i had no probs at all if anything it was great at first my weight dropped to a proper size, then i was off and on it for 12 years while i had kids mosley on micro though put 6 stone on with my second child so my doctor gave me a different pill because i was too over weight to have micro 30 put me on cerazette mini pill which is like having an elephant sat on your head cos of headaches, i took myself of it on monday and still have the headaches,

It was the doctor that told me you will only put weight on in the first few months til your body gets used to it.

but now hes put me on cerazette i feel like a umpalumpa and of course my weight is down to my lifestyle

I was on Mircogynon for around 10 years and no real side effects. I came off it when I split with my partner of 11 years but am now on a similar pill after a break of about a year. Again no side effects.

HI there, i have been on microgynon for 18 months and for the first 12 months i was fine, but all of a sudden im half a stone heavier, moody, weepy, spotty and have absolutley NO sex drive what so ever. I can off for 2 months due to my OH being away, and the weight fell off, and i felt great. Not really sure why i went back on it, at the time i did actually think the pill was the pill, so i just had to suffer it or get pregnant. but i got so fed up with having no sex drive - not to mention being fat and miserable - that i did a load of internet research and found out that they all have different chemicals and side affects and that Yasmin was particularly recommended by other women - apparently its the most popular birth control pill in the US - and they have to pay for it!!
apparently some docs are funny about prescribing it because its a lot more expencive than microgynon, but my doc was great, my friend had to tunr on the water works and really plead to get switched over.
