i have had the implant in for 2and half yrs. due out in sept 08 but all way through i had dodgy periods , bad mood swings and hurt during sex and afterwards , lots of abdominal pains and backpain. it never got better seems to be getting worse as now ive no sex drive with it. scared to have it out incase of falling pregnant as i have 3 kids already cant take pill or the injection as they give me bad depression what can i do?

sounds like you've had a bit of an ordeal with this one! I would strongly suggest that you go and talk to a doctor about it, you've mentioned some pretty serious symptoms that need checking out because although they could be to do with the implant, they could also be something totally different. S/he may suggest that the implant is removed immediately or s/he may not, but 2.5 years is a long time to put up with these symptoms - you owe it to yourself to get them sorted out!

Your doctor can also talk you through all your different options contraception-wise, and help you find one that suits your needs better. He or she is there to help, so do tell them everything you think and feel about your situation to give him/her the best idea of how to help you emotionally as well as medically.
