Hi hun,

it's not for me to say whether you have depression or not but it definitely sounds like you're feeling down and struggling a bit at the mo. First thing is don't beat yourself up about it, sounds like you have a lot on your plate and there's no shame in admitting you feel like c**p! I've suffered with depression (am well now thankfully) and it's no fun if that's what's happening with you. Even if it's not full on depression life's hard sometimes and too many of us suffer in silence and think we just have to get on with it. Might be worth you having a chat with your doc if you feel comfortable enough with him/her, a lot of them will refer you to a CPN (community psychiatric nurse, title sounds scary but they can be really helpful) who should be able to give you some strategies for coping when things get tough. I suffered with anxiety and my CPN really helped me handle situations I found hard, sometimes you just need to feel supported and that you have someone to turn to when things get on top of you. Antidepressants can work wonders in some cases but they're not the only answer and it's worth asking your doc what else they can suggest before you resort to pills, that's where the CPN comes in. The main thing is to not be scared to admit you're struggling, there's loads of help out there and your doc is the best place to start. PM me anytime if you need to talk, know what it's like when you feel you can't cope and getting it off your chest is sometimes all you need. Take care hun, I'm here anytime.

Lotsa love,
Clare xxx

Hi claire

Thankyou i did a online servery on a dc's site and this is what i got after taking it.
Goldberg's depression test

You have reached level 63 on the Goldberg scale.

0 - 9 Depression unlikely 21 - 35 Minor to moderate depression
10 - 17 Possibly minor depression 36 - 53 Moderate to severe depression
18 - 21 On the verge of depression 54+ Severe depression
You are having suicidal thoughts. This is a serious warning sign, and you must seek help quickly.

I posted it on my site(mummys world) and one of my mates replyed saying she did that exact same test and got that result and thought nothing of it a week later she had a very big breakdown!! which scared me into ringing the doctors so once i have been on friday at 20past 8 in the morning lol i will let you know

Good for you

Hi hun,

sounds like you've done the right thing, your doc really is the best person to talk to in the first instance, just be a bit careful cos some GP's seem a bit too willing to dole out pills and they're not always the best solution. I've had depression twice and been prescribed pills on both occasions, can't say they caused me any major problems but they do for some people so just make sure your doc talks you through all the options and offers counselling as well rather than just sending you away with a prescription and no other support. You've taken the first step to beating this already and can feel proud that you didn't just ignore it and hope it went away on it's own. With the right treatment you can get your life back and come out the other side all the stronger for it, I have and to be honest I never thought I would in the beginning. Depression is a horrible illness and a lot of people underestimate what it can do to you but it can be a learning curve too, I feel stronger now than I did before I was ill and learned a lot about myself along the way so don't be scared, you will get through this. I'm here anytime if you need any info or a shoulder to lean on, take care of yourself and let me know how you get on.

Lotsa love,
Clare xxx
