I'm not at uni any more but I used to take part in loads of studies for the science department. I got cash, book vouchers, free food... it's not great if you're looking for a regular income but it certainly goes towards helping with living costs!

I'm thinking about getting a part-time bar job but not sure if it won't take up too much studying time...there are psychology studies too but not v well paid. Any other skint students with ideas?! Thanks Luce

Hi ... I'm not a student but work in Uni with a lot of students in your situation.
Have you tried applying for Access to Learning Funding? Its based on a comparison between your income and outgoings. Where there's a shortfall you may be eligible for some money each year you're at Uni up to £3000. It's non repayable and you can apply every year...it might help. Its aim is to keep students in HE when they might be thinking of leaving because of financial probs. Your student support services dept should have info Good luck
