Oh my goodness, what wonderful news to start the new year off with: N-Power are putting up their prices by 17%. It's absolutely disgusting. Why hacven't the regulators/government capped the charges? It can't carry on like this.

Does anyone know anything about entitlements to help with paying gas and elec bills? Is there an allowance / benefit for people on a low income?

It's terrible isn ... I'm sure the companies are making enough profit out of us already, they can afford to take the brunt of the oil price increase themselves.

I just don't understand it!
The price of oil goes down and the 'big 6' announce price hikes of up to about 35% for some unfortunate people...
...Then, they go and report record profits!
So I went and switched my business electricity (the other half deals with the home bills) to an independent - E4B in case anyone want to know - and saved quite a bit. That's another bill of my mind!
