Being french and living in France I can assure y ou that even very slowly the smoking ban works. At last. At the beggining the non smokers were considered as being neurotic bla bla and now I can see that less people smoke. Also the strong cancer campaign against cigarettes has help to cool down the smokers furror. Many more restaurants are now protected from smoke and even have totally forbidden to smoke in the locals. It comes slowly but it finally comes. We breath better. Fionally!!!!

Does everyone think the smoking ban has worked? I was in Scotland when it first came in and people weren't too impressed but where I live everyone seems to be cool with it. Jess xx

It doesn't seem to have made any difference from what I can tell. I might not be saying the same in the middle of winter when I'm sat next to the log fire inside a nice warm pub and all my friends have deserted me to go for a fag outside! Rather them than me!
