Make-up: should i bother?

I'm 17 and have started wearign make-up on a regular basis. Not a lot, just some blusher and eyeshadow. Most of my friends do too but this guy I like says that I look fine without make-up and that he doesn't see why I wear it.

Has anyone else had a guy tell them to not bother wearing make-up? I think it's sweet of him but I don't know if he's just saying it to make me feel good about myself. I don't know if I could get used to not wearing make-up now anyway!

Hiya

aw that was nice of him to say but i dont think you should stop wearing it.

why dont you tone it down a bit and just wear bronzer, mascara and a clear lip gloss and see if he says anything different?

its sounds like he is into you wither you wear it or not

If you do, wear it for you.

In the end, it's only you that matters. If you want to wear it, you should. I am 19 and only now have I gotten into wearing it.

Make up

Its up to you. If you like your self better with make up then go for it, wear it. But I think you should maybe trust the guy you like, alot of people are naturaly good looking anyway.
If you dont feel comfortable without it on now why not just knock it down a bit like some mascara and blusher tht way no one can see distinctly tht your wearing it but you know you are.
Hope i helped

Hey i'm 20 - lots of experience

Wearing loads of make up may make you feel more 'grown up' or 'older' but it also makes your skin 'grown up' and 'older'.

Yes I wear make up and did from about 12 nothing drastic then just a bit of eyeshadow and mascara...however you do get addicted to it hun.

Your friend's start wearing foundation or concealer to cover spots....spots are caused my blocking the pores in your skin with dirt and oil and free radicals....ALL in make up. So you start wearing foundation, then concealer and foundation, then concealer, foundation and powder and before you know it you have layer and layer of cr*p on your skin causing MORE spots..doesn't matter if you remove it at night for 8 hours but what about the rest of the day?

Seriously, I now wear make up most days - a fair amount, but with age and experience you manage to get it looking more natural..but not as natural and perfect as those who didn't wear make up when they were younger.

I probably sound old and boring but trust me I've been there and if I could turn the clock back I wouldn't have worn make up like I did....plus you were born with the colour skin you have, the tone, the texture, if it wasn't supposed to suit you - you wouldn't look like it.

Of all the kids I have seen through going through secondary school, college and uni the worst looking of them all are not those who don't wear make up (who actually have amazing skin) but its those with cr*p hair! So girls if you want to feel 'older' and seriously...why? - then just do your hair better!

Trust me girls....guys don't care if you have a flawless face or look 30 which most kids under 18 do now because of the cr*p skin they have got cuz of the make up they wear....they just want to get in your pants....not nice but that is the way it goes.

Be careful and be safe and trust me make up WILL NOT make you look more attractive...just easy.

xx

Yessssss wear it

yes wear it its fab it makes you look really pretty and soooooo much older

Its up to you

I wear make up to school because i feel more confident with it on. so dont just change it for a lad its up to you

Up to you

Haha yah guys dont like too much makeup.. but some foundation and blush is fine.. eyeshadow indicates you are wearing makeup.. so if you go without it he will think its more natural and you might be more comfortable.
do what is comfortable for you though. he doesnt live in your skin, you do.. so you do whats right for you

What i would do...

yes, ive had a guy tell me tht i dont need to wear make-up and tht i look better with out it but for me i feel better with make-up on and im not going to change tht for a guy...so you should do what makes u feel better!! =)

Au naturel

I'd feel relieved about it and I'm sure he means it! If he likes you without make-up then why not go "au naturel"? If you're uncomfortable doing that then maybe just put a bit of concealer on so you feel like you've put something on. You can save fancy colours then for special occasions.

Don't bother!

Men don't like OTT make-up!
