Red lump

I have a small red lump on my pubic area, it doesn't hurt or itch.
I've read it could be herpes but I have never had sex or sexual contact with anyone so I'm wondering if it is and how I got it?

Please help.

Could be something simple

Could just be an infected hair follicle. Try not to jump to conclusions about the worst case scenario. Check out the most common reasons first.
Hopefully it has cleared up by now.
