wow sweety. that's rough. when I first started having my period (I'm 19 now) I had horrible cramps. My legs would go numb, I would be lightheaded all day... I went to the doctor about it. they gave me birthcontrol pills. I wouldn't advise that though. because I had the pills I gave in and had sex at too young an age, and I was sexually abused because there was no chance of pregnancy. I finally escaped that relationship and stopped the pills as soon as possible. after that my period became unpredictable, my cramps were back, and stopping the hormones caused my breasts to become a cup smaller. so, I would say go to the doctor about it. feeling bad during your period is not uncommon, but the getting sick worries me. just put serious thought into birthcontrol before you take it, because it causes damage to a woman. take what they say with a grain of salt, because many docs will prescribe birthcontrol as the easy solution. and if you decide later on in life you want kids, and yous stop birthcontrol, you will be less fertile for a certain amount of time. (it differs for every woman) just as the doc what's wrong, and how to fix it naturally. take birthcontrol as a last resort.
keep me updated (x)

Wow... Im 16 Now And I Started My Period When I Was 12 I Started With Some Unusal Period Cramps Which Gave Me So Much Pain, It Felt Like I Was Dying And That I Have Had Someone Pusching Me Really Hard In My Stomach. But That All Faded Away Very Quickly I Haerdly Get Them AnyMore But If I Do Its Not That Hard. If You Ever Gte Bad Pains Then Just Relax And Stick A Hot Water Bottle On That Should Be Okay It Usual Helps. =]

Hi there, that sounds really bad. I'd definitely go see your doctor about that. I don't think it's right though about the birth control thing causing damage. It maybe depends on the type of birth control that you have, but I've got a lot of friends who are taking contraceptive pills and they never had any problems. Apparently, you might not be fertile for a few months after stopping the pill but that's all, it doesn't affect you forever.

dont stress about your fertility and the pill - when you come off the pill youre just like the rest of the population - some women will get pregnant first try others will take a few months - some have problems - this is not the pill its just that all women are different -i had it both ways -once pregnant in a flash and the other time had to try for a while - things like your weight and general health affect your fertility though...the pill really does help in a lot of cases of really nasty periods - its worth trying and as for sex....really whats the difference to your choice making if youre on the pill?? condoms stop pregnancy too and to say that a person had sex before she was ready because of the pill....come on we all have to take responsibility for our decisions and our actions - i mean thats like saying that you got sick from eating 200 cakes from the cake shop....because the shop had 200 cakes!!! its awful when someone has a bad experience but we do need to understand why these things happen- its because we choose to do things - not because the opportunity was there - so go ahead and check out the pill - it could make such a difference

I totally agree with glynda. I started my periods when I was 12. At 13 I went on the pill because my periods were causing me too much pain. I stayed on them for 3 years. I am now 19 and my periods are regular and I have no fertility problems.
Having sex for the first time is an individual's decision (unless abused or raped). Being on the pill doesnt change your ability to think for yourself. Also even if you decide to have sex because you are on the pill, there are such things as STD's to watch out for and the pill doesnt protect against this.
Its not a case of palming you off with the pill. It is proven that the pill helps with periods. Ask your doctor for leaflets on the pill and decide for yourself. There are herbal remedies that can help like evening primrose.
