Don't count on speding up your metabolism
You should not count on speeding up your metabolism as the only source to lose weight.
You can use spicy food, or tea to do that. Nevertheless, the contribution is quite modest.
It works well for bodybuilders that have a very small quantity of fat and do a lot of exercises.
The conclusion is that speeding up metabolism helps but the contribution is quite small.
If you want to lose weight, count the calories this is the only proven way to lose weight.
You could spend a couple of hours preparing your own diet plan and you are done.
Prepare 3 or 4 days plan where every day you get 1200-1400 kcal.
If you find boring to count calories use a software that can help to do that. There are a lot of good ones on internet.
I personal use a diet builder, it is free, powerful and a great fun to use it. On top of that it tells you if your diet is balanced in term of vitamins and minerals.

Anyway to lose weight you could
1) Keep calories at bay (most powerful) count calories for each drop of food!!! In particular for dressings the have a small volumes but they are loaded with calories.
2) Do exercises (it works well if you spend many hours doing cardio) it has a limited effect if you spend few hours a week.
3) Increase metabolism with spices (hot chilly) and green tea. It can be used with profit if you have pushed the other two methods to de limit. Even creative is a supplement that bodybuilders use to speed up the the fat burning process.
