Just introducing myself

hi everyone im new to this site and nedd some help/advice please

background:
always was big as a child(not overweight just never been skinny) and before i kew it i was a size 16(3 years ago) i decided to cut out all of the junk food from my diet and i was soon a size 12. my will power got the better of me though and i am now a sie 14 and realy want 2 go back down 2 that size 12 i was before. i know what your thinking....why dont you just stop eating junk food again?? but ive tried and for some reason it didnt work the second time arround!! i went to the gym tried lots of different diets but nothing seems 2 be working.

i thought that after christmas would be as good a time as any to start and could come on here for support to know that when im having a 'cant be arsed day' im not the only one wanting to stay in my pj's all day and eat ice cream lol

do any of you reccomend a good diet that dosent mean starving your self?? and not 2 much exercise as im having a boob job at the end of this month and wont be able 2 push myself in the gym for about 3months after untill im properly heald.

thanks

jamie

Welcome

Hi Jamie,

Welcome! January is an excellent time to start a new healthy eating plan. Personally i do not like the term 'diet'. It only makes u feel that u are restricting yourself and some how denying yourself from all the foods u love, when actually it is being over weight that is depriving u of so much in your life. Also the word 'diet' suggests that it is a short term solution, when in fact healthy eating has to be your way of life. Unfortunately most people have to watch carefully how much they eat for the rest of their lives but thats not to say we can't treat ourselves every now and again! It's just about moderation. There are no quick fixes or fad diets that work in the long term, some even make u put on weight! Its just about making healthy choices and watching your calorie intake. Eat less, move more and u will lose weight. There is no need to starve, doing so will only make u binge later which will only make u heavier long term. Aim to lose 1 or 2lbs a week. Exercise wise, try body weight exercises like squats, ball squats, split lunges, power lifts and so on. It isn't necessary to go to the gym if u don't fancy it, but working out certainly makes u feel better and tones u up quickly. Good luck hun, hope this helps

Ruby xx
