Anyone on atkins?

Hi all,

I 've recently started the Atkins diet, which worked great for the first six days and I dropped 6 and a half pounds....however, now on day 11 and my weight has stuck. I haven't gained, but haven't lost any either.

I'm 5'6'' and was 11 stone 8 now 11 st 1 and a bit.....Ideally I'd like to drop at least another half stone over the next few weeks. Does anyone know how to reboost my weight loss? I have remained faithful to the diet and have stopped drinking diet soda (which I was still drinking when I was losing weight). The only thing I can't give up is my coffee, though I have cut down though to 3 cups a day and am drinking it with lactose free milk (hardly any carbs!).

ooh, and if anyone has any tips for low-carb snacks, that would be great!

Hi Emma,

Well done on your weight loss, I sort of did the atkins and planning to go back on it. When I did it I continued having skimmed milk for my tea and coffee, and still lost weight and loads of inches ! I used to order loads of snacks form www.avidlite.co.uk they sell loads of carb free sweets and snacks and cheap ! Check them out.

Why dont you get some ketosis sticks ? there brilliant you can check if your body is fat burning , however you probaly am. Keep to it hun !

have ordered ketostix off amazon, am just awaiting their arrival. Got on scales today and have dropped a pound...am now 11 stone and 3/4s of a pound..not much loss, but still a bit of movement!

Lost it last night and had some chocolate, (oops) but getting straight back on wagon today. I'm gonna have a look at advilite too....think i must be buring fat, had blinding headaches the first few days which have subsided, and jeans are loose, had to use a new hole on belt, so its all good! Am gonna stay on induction for next two weeks, am actually quite enjoying it, and chocolate tasted funny last night so think i can do without all the sugar. Might start to have a little fruit and berrries tho because i do need puddings! And have bought lactose free milk which has very few carbs for my tea and coffee, another thing i can't live without!

Hi Emma,

Any weight loss is good ! you have probaly lost the inches too. Get a tape measure and right your measurements down. The inches will fly off !

You have probaly come out of ketosis now as you ate some chocolate, but hey dont worry about it, if you go straight back on it you might find your weight loss will improve. It roughly takes about 3 days for your body to get back in ketsosis. What I do is if my weight gets to a stand still I come off the diet and eat normal for a day and then i go straight back on it and then i loose more weight. Avdivate do loads of lush chocolate I aways order from them, check out the carb free lolly pops too plus there 0 cal. The best way to think about it is your eating healthy now plus with the low carb chocs and treats you will continue loose and weight and inches ! brilliant isnt it !

been on advil, gonna order some of teh sahkes becuase i usually dont have much time for breakfast. As for teh chocolate, gonna giev it a wide berth, feel a bit ill after eating it, stomach has been doing cartwheels from the sugar. Good to know i dont need it anymore though!

am now at 11 and 3/4 pounds...been stuck there since saturday, hope some more comes off this week.

I have been eating late at night, about ten pm because i havent been going to bed til around two, as i'm working on my essays for uni, think thats prob not helping, so am gonna be really good and teh cut off for eating will be 7 pm for the rest of the week. Think its more boredom eating than anything.
