Be careful

I went on the cambridge diet in the 80s. I lost tons of weight. I also became anorexic and screwed up my metabolism. These diets are no substitute for a sensible diet and exercise. The only way to do it is to stick to a healthy eating plan do some physical activity. Im not trying to pee on your bonfire but please take notice of someone who did it and suffered in the long term. Yes it will bring you short term results, and great ones at that. But when you start to eat normally, as you will have to at some point, then thats where the trouble begins.

My best advice would be steer clear of this stuff and if you cant work out a sensible plan for yourself then go see your doctor for some nutritional advice. If youre in the UK they can even prescribe you an exercise plan on the NHS. Please dont feck up your metabolism or get an eating disorder. All the best to you.

i have just started for the 2nd time

I find it good this time going to do diet witha daily visit to gym ss for 2 weeks then wek hol and back to sole source must follw maintenance plan to make it work this time

Just had 'lunch' which was a choc mint shake, and now i am feeling hungry! Just downing loads of water and going to get an early night!

Whens your first weigh in?

Helloooooooo!!

Hiya Kate!

How has your day been so far?!

I'm on sole source too - I think the whole 'no food' thing will be good for me as I need to get rid of some bad eating habits!!

I had the ready made strawberry shake for breakfast - was nice but a little sweet and a bit on the small side!! I had the toffee walnut shake for lunch -I really enjoyed that one but that may have been down to the fact I was quite hungry by that point!! I'm now counting down the hours until i can have my next shake/dinner (!!) - bit worrying that I'm excited by a milkshake!!!

Drinking lots and lots of water is helping but I am finding that I'm spending a lot of my day running to the loo!!

My first weigh in is next Monday, when is yours? I determined to loose the weight this time - love that you get fast results with CD. Its great to think that in a few months you can be at least a couple of stone lighter - very excited!!

Hope your day has been ok so far!

Rum xx

Hellooooooooooooo back!

Hey Rum,

Well it's the end of the day basically for me! It's gone ok, i have actually been really thirsty so drinking the required amount of water hasn't been an issue, but i am really tired now, so going to get an early night!

I am getting weighed next friday, as my husband is away and i dont fancy taking two kids along with me! So it would have been a week and a half of dieting, so fingers crossed it will be a massive loss!

I had the toffee and walnut one and loved it! I then had the choc mint which was ok, but the butterscotch was yuck! Tasted like some random medicine! So i will be swopping those for something else.

Do you work full time? I am quite lucky in that i am a house wife so if i do get tired over the next few days i will be putting a dvd on for my little angels and having a quick lie down on the sofa!

Let me know how you get on tomo, apparently the first three days are the hardest! Glad you're determined, so am! I'm arranging my school reunion at the moment, so i am motivated by that! Do you have a goal in mind?

Have a good night honey xxx

Food all around me

Hiya Kate,

How's your day going so far?

I'm finding today hard as its a collegues birthday which means that we have lots of cakes floating around the office - trying to concentrate on my work and drink lots of peppermint tea/water in order to distract myself from the temptations of the huge choc cake - so far so good!! I work full time, I start at 7am but the upside to that is that I get to finish by 3.30 so have the afternoon to myself!! Means that i can get away from the cakes!!

I had an early night last night too as had an evil headache all evening - i drank my weights worth in water - so i knew it couldnt be down to that, i guess its just one of those things that i'll have to put up with for a while until i get used to CD.

I also tried the butterscotch milkshake yesterday - yuk yuk yuk is all i can say to that one!! Was hoping that it might taste like the butterscotch flavour angel delight - wishful thinking on my part!! I tried the readymade choc one this morning - was lovely!! Really sweet but enjoyed it all the same!

I dont have a goal as such, i just dont want to be 'big' anymore!! I turned 30 last November and I decided that i didnt want to spend my 30's being a fatty with the chunkiest arms in existance (!!), i want to be able to wear nice clothes and just feel better about myself. I am off to Canada for two weeks at the beginning of August - i would love to have lost a decent amount by then! When is your school reunion? How long will it have been since you saw your school friends?

Do u mind me asking how much you want to loose? I'm hoping to loose 2 and half stone. Will have fingers and toes crossed for your weigh in next friday!! Hope i loose a decent amount on Monday - the weekend will be hard as we're off to my sister in laws for a big lunch for fathers day. I havent told my family i've started the CD as i dont think they'd understand - so me and hubby have put together a story about me having a 'dodgey' tum so i'm not able to eat!! Oh the lies!!

Anyway i'm off to go and make my lunch now - think its fruits of the forest for me today, i really hope its nicer than the butterscotch, will keep u posted!

I hope your having a good day hun,

xxx

My day!

Hello lovely lady!

my day is going ok, my husbands away at the minute so i'm not really subjected to food! Just feeding my children, but thats not to bad!

I've had the toffee and walnut today and chocolate, got a feeling i'll be living on those! Have you tried the soups yet or porridge?

Well i currently weigh 13.13 and before i got pregnant was 10.12... but i'd like to get to 10.7. So thats nearly 3 and a half stone i'd like to lose!

I did weight watchers after i had my first child and lost loads (i was big before i got pregnant) - 8 1/2 stone all together! Stayed slim for 2 years at a size 10/12 and then when i got pregnant this time round i just reverted to really bad eating habits! Eating my usual healthy meals but then gorging on chocolate. I was so tired being pregnant at work (i'm a high school teacher), that the only thing that kept me going was snacking!

Its been harder this time losing weight, as last time each time i lost weight i was slimmer then i'd ever been, so it was great seeng my wardrobe change etc, but as i've been slim for a good while before getting pregnant again, i don't have the same feeling each time i'd lost a pound at weight watchers! This time it's just felt like hard work and taking far to long!

Keep your chin up, the food cravings do get easier apparently! I'm just using visualisation as an aid! Just think about the clothes you'll be able to wear when you are at your goal weight! It is an amazing feeling and i can't wait to get back there! xxx
