My vaser procedure

Well i have finally had it done. My lower and upper abdomen and my lovehandles (flanks).

I woke up a few times in the middle of the night, i guess i was apprehensive about the op. Finally decided to stay awake at 7 am yesterday. I prepared some food for later in the day and then started on my check list. Sanitary Towels yes, 2 bath towel, yes, compression garment,, yes and abdomen support yes. Then the nerves kicked in, i couldn't stop shaking. I kept tellin myself i was going to be fine and try to find my relaxation music only to put on meditation instead. As i found myself almost dosing i decided to switch it off lol.

Anyway i took my medication an hour prior to the operation as i was suppose to and when i got in there was feeling great, nerves had gone and i was looking forward to it. Dr Patel had took some pictures then marked up my body and he began the procedure. Firstly injecting with saline and whatever else was in there, i can' t remeber now painkiller i think. this was inserted into every area. Then once he was happy i was numb started the vaser which i must say was virtually pain free. There was 2 occasions when he hit a muscle or something which made me jump, but other then that the experience was not bad at all.

Then Dr Patel and Gita put steristrips on my wounds which i must say are tiny and then a plaster over them. Was told not to remove them until i have my check up with them this Wednesday. The bottom 2 holes were left open and oh my gosh did i like. It was like having the tap left on and fast paced dripping. Gita soon put the sanitary towels on the wounds to help stop the leakage and then put the compression garment over it.

I felt fine, just a bit shaky. They made me a sandwich to eat and gave me some Coke. This was to raise my sugar levels to stop the shaking. I was shaking quite a bit but violently if you know what i mean. They gave me antibiotics which i took 2 there and then and then i have to take 1 a day till i see them again. I was given additional painkillers too. By about 6pm the painkillers had worn off and i was started to hurt, i took 2 more then i was fine. I ended up going bingo that evening and apart from being a bit drowsy was fine, until i tried to stand up. I was so stiff and ended up walking like uncle fester leaning forward lol. Not for long i may add i did straighten up. I took another painkiller around 10pm and started to change my dressing. I was nervous as on my back the steristrip had opened up and the blood was leaking, not a lot but made me a bit nervous. The bottom 2 holes that were left open didn''t leak so i had to try and hold sanitary towels in their positions there whilst pulling the garment up to get a towel or 3 in my back to stop the leakage. Once i ha done that it was fine. I was sick but not a lot. I then went straight to bed as i was feeling drowsy.

I woke up a quite a few times in the night and was extremely stiff trying to move. I finally decided to get up at 8am this morning, stiff as a board doesn't come into it and in some pain again not a great deal. I took my anitbiotics and the painkillers and all is well.

I am not sure if it is the compression board giving me all the pain to be honest Everytime i move it off my skin it doesn't appear that bad. BUT we do need it.

I want to say a huge thank you to TRUEBLUE21 for keeping me informed and putting my mind at rest x

I am thinking about having this done with Mr Patel. How painful has it been? How much time have you had to have off work? How have the results been?
