New to forums...sadly not new to dieting!

Hello everyone!

I have just joined this forum and I'm trying to navigate my way around. Not quite sure what the etiquette is here but I am hoping to find lots of help and support on my quest to finally reach my target weight!

I have yo-yo'd between 10 stone/140lbs and 20 stone/280lbs and various amounts in between for the last 18 years but never quite reaching my elusive target weight of 9 1/2 stone/133lbs!! I currently tip the scales at 12 stone 2 lbs/ 170lbs and I am hoping that this will finally be my road to success.

Having tried various diets, programmes, pills and potions I am now sticking to healthy eating and regular exercise and hope that common sense will get me there.

I would love to hear any stories from anyone else in a similar situation, and I hope that I will be able to offer some support to you too!

I look forward to sharing with you...

Louise

Ps. The rain is pouring down here, hope the sun is shining wherever you are!

Keep it up

Hi Louise

Well it sounds like you are on the right road....healthy eating and regular exercise.
If you've been yo-yoing for 18 years have you looked at your emotions and thought about weight loss holistically? the woman as a whole, physically, mentally, emotionally spiritually and nutritionally.

I too have yo-yoed over the years though for me it ended in the other extreme, being too underweight and it wasnt until i started to adress all the above that my relationship with food has really improved and im finding a happy weight which feels good for me and saying goodbye to the starvation/binge cycle.

Good luck!

Re: britney spear fitness secret

Britney obviously works out. Britney has been known to do a lot of dancing for exercise. She also said shes doing lots of cardio and weights five days a week. To find out more about Britneys Diet and Exercise History. http://how-much-does-britney-spears-w eigh.com Its great to know so much about her.

Hey louise

you should try what I tried, the celeb secrets you see celebs looking great at any age and you wonder how they do it, but it's all exercise and diet, and www.howcelebritiesloseweight.c om has all the stories on that, you should definitely check it out!

Hi louise

i'm not so much of a yoyo dieter as such. i was very overweight before i had my daughter. when i was carrying her i ate healthy so when she was born i lost alot of weight which i kept of till i was pregnant with my son. at that point i was 12st7 which i was happy with. since carrying/having my son i put on about 3 and a half stone. not pleased lol. my son is now 3 and i can't use his baby weight as an excuse now and i would love to be a bit thinner so i can take them swimming etc. i joined slimming world 6 weeks ago and so far have lost 15lb. more to the point i have no notion of veering off my diet. i also exercise and have fun with the wii fit too. would love to hear how you are getting on. there's a couple of us monitering our losses on a tuesday under summerlees post. why don't you join us?

tc, gail xx

ps. i'm in scotland, its always raining here lol

Hi gail!

Hi Gail,

Thanks so much for your post. Great to hear about other peoples experiences. You sound like you're on a roll at the moment with Slimming World which is fantastic.

I am just getting used to this forum and not sure what you mean about the weight loss monitoring, how do I find the post?

Good luck with everything and I look forward to sharing success stories on here with you!

All the best,

Louise,

Ps. Whereabouts in Scotland are you? I have some good friends from Glasgow and I love it up there...as you say, other than the rain! Although having said that I am visiting the west of Ireland at the moment and I think that beats you hands down in the wetness stakes!!
