"Stick to low carbs when eating real foods" Posted by lowcarbing 25 August at 04:08
Ketosis is a very important part of LL and being in Ketosis helps you not to feel so hungry. It's probably best if you're going to have evening meals while on LL to have a low carb meal. Get the South Beach diet, Atkins diet or any Low carb diet books etc, so that you can know what meals are best to eat to keep you in Ketosis and still lose weight.
Hope this helps!

"You can do it!!!" Posted by edwina341 2 August at 17:11
I also lost 51/2 stone on Lighter life in 6months. I have only ever put a stone back on but it took about 13 days to do so. I tend to do lighter life in the day and then have a meal- but I do regularly exercise to help me. When I am trying to get back into Ketosis I use exercise to flip me back into it quicker- this is just what works for me. I don't eat much carbohydrates because I know I am carbo sensitive. Did you undertake management?
If not, go back to your counsellor. But you have done it once so you have enough data for yourself that you can do it again. Don't give up!

"Can anyone tell me...." Posted by carla18181 6 July at 21:25
....if lighter life is safe to do if I am trying for a baby? I have to loose some(lots of) weight and obviously want to do this as quickly as possible so my chances of conceiving increase. Has anyone used LL for this purpose?
Carla.

"The good the bad of ll" Posted by nicenavy 20 April at 22:26
I have to be honest and say LL is one of the worst diet I have come across:- 1. Its not the most healthiest way to lose weight. 2. Its impossible to stick to a complete liquid diet(we were given teeth to chew, bite and enjoy our food) 3.Its denying your body of essential food such fruits and vegetables. 4.YOUR BODY GOES IN TO STARVATION MODE 5.AND YOU END UP PUTTING ON MORE WEIGHT AS SOON AS YOU START EATING AGAIN. Best to start a lifestyle change of healthy eating and regular exercise thats the only ! LL is just a quick fix and all quick fixes don't last . LL is just a waste of good money your better off buying good healthy food and a pair of good trainers and start running. Take care and good luck ! Navy x

"Lighter life - the highs and lows" Posted by lighterthanbefore 21 April at 12:29
I started LL in Feb 2007 and lost 7 stone by the end of October - I stopped not because I had reached my goal weight but because I wanted a break for birthdays, Christmas and to live. I am now back on the programme - having gained a stone over four months. If you stick to the rules, if you walk the 10,000 steps a day - measure them with the pedometer you were given in week 2 - if you weigh your portions, you will keep the weight off.
For people who are thinking of starting the programme, don't just go and get weighed - stay for the sessions - I found these really usefull and we had a good group who were willing to share their problems. It isn't a cure all, but at least you can recognise your mistakes when you start to make them again (which you almost certainly will). Yes, there is some hair loss - it's very common with a Very Low Calorie Diet. The diet is hard - not because of the low calories but because of boredom - I didn't like some of the soups - and I like more variety in my diet. When I reach target, I will follow management - I will still go to the weekly sessions until I am more confident in my own ability not to overeat consistently.
I have had the unfailing support of my GP in this and LL has saved my life literally.

"Looking for a lighterlife buddy" Posted by lonewalker 20 April at 11:51
Read your message, I did LL from March to Aug last year and lost 4 1/2 stone. I too have been on and off that damn wall and can't remember putting so much weight on so quickly before - I have put 2 1/2 stone back on. So far, efforts to get back on the programme have been half hearted, but I have taken the bull by the horns and joined the group again, hoping this will spur me on- I'm actually starting today.
Just wondering how you have done?

Hi, wondered if you could help me? Im thinking about setting up a business with lighter life and having my own group. The cost of this is expensive, so I wondered how many people are already customers of LL or are thinking about joining LL
thanks

"Ll-success and failure" Posted by sam3437 16 April at 00:02
Hi, I did LL last yr,jan07-may07. I managed to lose 5.5 st.It was the best feeling ever receiving compliments everyday was fab!Since then I have put on 2st,which has been very upsetting. Some of which I have to take the blame for as I went crazy after I came off the diet, I would binge eat then cut down this cycle has continued. I have tried to break it but in vain. I also believe it is partly to do with the metabolism slowing down after the diet.I have tried to do the diet several times but have failed as have not been motivated and determined enough. I still believe LL is a v good way of losing weight esp for ppl like me who fail with diets like slimming world, food is totally out of the eqaution with LL I found this worked for me best. I am trying to lose the 2st which I have gained, going to give LL another go, I have also started to exercise regularly, hopefully this time it'll be different. I think you should start it again but make sure you exercise aswell, this way your metabolism will be faster when you come off the diet and hopefully wont put the weight back on.I'll keep you posted re my LL journey revisted!!goodluck.

"Lighter wallet/purse" Posted by ladyrogue 4 April at 18:57
This may be very good especially if your classed as obese( I am ). But it costs a bloody fortune and your not telling me that when you start to eat again you dont put on a bit of weight. I cant afford it as it works out at about £70 per week. So the best way i think is to eat healthy and excercise thats how i lost 7 stone before i had my son. But now i am active and i do watch what i eat but i am still a big girl. So if anyone out there knows how to get LL on the cheap then let me know.
Thanks

""lighter life"" Posted by mightymandy 28 February at 17:06
I also did LL from May 2006 - October 2006 where I lost 5 stone in the 100 days then a further (very difficult) stone to October. My back collapsed and I came off the diet. (My back injury was nothing to do with being on the diet) I looked great with clothes on but sagged badly. I have since put on 6 stone and am miserable again. I did not do maintenance because I had not reached my goal and went straight back into eating normally. (I was careful what I ate but just could not stop the weight going on.) Now I'm back looking to diet again. I have just been turned down by Slim fast. One thing I will also say is that the weight gain this time has changed my shape. (I always carried my weight evenly all over) now I have put on so much around my bottom/legs and stomach. AND IT'S PURE FLAB!!! I hope you are successful with your regime - I too tried going back but just could not stick it more than a week. If anybody has any ideas to help me get back on a diet that really works please let me know.

Hi all, for all those thinking of doing lighter life go for it! I am now just over half way through the programme after starting on the 6th of january. I have lost 2st 4lbs and dropped nearly 3 dress sizes. I feel like i have loads of energy and i have around one more stone to lose. I am slightley apprehensive about putting the weight back on, but this programme has changed my way of thinking and i dont think i could do it to myself again. good luck for all those thinking about it. Lighter life is in the process of changing my life ANNIE

"Lighterlife" Posted by laurs3 7 February at 17:49
I did LL last year too but only for 5 weeks but still lost 19.5lb, admitidly tho I did cheat a bit and had one meal a week! But it was obvious that was why the weight didn't come off as quick as most of the others and why I was always hungry!!! I am back on it again now, since sunday, and have been for my mid-week weigh in, and have already lost 6.8lb in 4 days, I am so pleased with myself it has made me more determind than ever to stick to it, my goal is about 5 stone to lose but really as much as I can from now until my hold in June!

"I did ll too.." Posted by loverchris 1 January at 22:05
I did LL in september and lost 2 stone then felt I could do it myself. Have put on a stone since and all the self loathing has returned....I would love to say its the fault of the diet but if I am honest I have eaten crap and paid the price. The whle reason I am on lline tonight is I am thinking og going back but it is such a lot of money. Have also contacted a local cambridge diet counsellor but dont know much about it except its half the price.
