I did LL from Aug to March last year and lost nearly 4 1/2 stone. Since last March I've been half doing it - having LL during the day and eating a meal in the evening. Nothing horrendous...

Lighter life

Hi, wondered if you could help me?
Im thinking about setting up a business with lighter life and having my own group. The cost of this is expensive, so I wondered how many people are already customers of LL or are thinking about joining LL

thanks

Colette

I joined LL 3 and a half years ago. Lost 3 stone put it all back on again and more.

When i look in the mirror now i hate what i see. I have tried so many diets lose a 1lb put 4 on.

I would love to go back to LL but i find it to expensive. So if your thinking of opening your own business if its in merseyside i would love to join again.

Ll-success and failure

Hi, I did LL last yr,jan07-may07. I managed to lose 5.5 st.It was the best feeling ever receiving compliments everyday was fab!Since then I have put on 2st,which has been very upsetting. Some of which I have to take the blame for as I went crazy after I came off the diet, I would binge eat then cut down this cycle has continued. I have tried to break it but in vain. I also believe it is partly to do with the metabolism slowing down after the diet.I have tried to do the diet several times but have failed as have not been motivated and determined enough. I still believe LL is a v good way of losing weight esp for ppl like me who fail with diets like slimming world, food is totally out of the eqaution with LL I found this worked for me best. I am trying to lose the 2st which I have gained, going to give LL another go, I have also started to exercise regularly, hopefully this time it'll be different. I think you should start it again but make sure you exercise aswell, this way your metabolism will be faster when you come off the diet and hopefully wont put the weight back on.I'll keep you posted re my LL journey revisted!!goodluck.

Lighter wallet/purse

This may be very good especially if your classed as obese( I am ).
But it costs a bloody fortune and your not telling me that when you start to eat again you dont put on a bit of weight.
I cant afford it as it works out at about £70 per week.
So the best way i think is to eat healthy and excercise thats how i lost 7 stone before i had my son.
But now i am active and i do watch what i eat but i am still a big girl.
So if anyone out there knows how to get LL on the cheap then let me know.

Thanks

Hi im a cambridge counsellor

I had the same journey, i cant believe people can afford lighter life, I found cambridge and it worked for me and the cost id the same as buying food shopping, if you need any info get in touch

"lighter life"

I also did LL from May 2006 - October 2006 where I lost 5 stone in the 100 days then a further (very difficult) stone to October. My back collapsed and I came off the diet. (My back injury was nothing to do with being on the diet) I looked great with clothes on but sagged badly. I have since put on 6 stone and am miserable again. I did not do maintenance because I had not reached my goal and went straight back into eating normally. (I was careful what I ate but just could not stop the weight going on.) Now I'm back looking to diet again. I have just been turned down by Slim fast. One thing I will also say is that the weight gain this time has changed my shape. (I always carried my weight evenly all over) now I have put on so much around my bottom/legs and stomach. AND IT'S PURE FLAB!!! I hope you are successful with your regime - I too tried going back but just could not stick it more than a week. If anybody has any ideas to help me get back on a diet that really works please let me know.

Lighter life is the best !

Hi all,
for all those thinking of doing lighter life go for it! I am now just over half way through the programme after starting on the 6th of january. I have lost 2st 4lbs and dropped nearly 3 dress sizes. I feel like i have loads of energy and i have around one more stone to lose. I am slightley apprehensive about putting the weight back on, but this programme has changed my way of thinking and i dont think i could do it to myself again.
good luck for all those thinking about it. Lighter life is in the process of changing my life

Lighterlife

I did LL last year too but only for 5 weeks but still lost 19.5lb, admitidly tho I did cheat a bit and had one meal a week! But it was obvious that was why the weight didn't come off as quick as most of the others and why I was always hungry!!! I am back on it again now, since sunday, and have been for my mid-week weigh in, and have already lost 6.8lb in 4 days, I am so pleased with myself it has made me more determind than ever to stick to it, my goal is about 5 stone to lose but really as much as I can from now until my hold in June!

I did ll too..

I did LL in september and lost 2 stone then felt I could do it myself. Have put on a stone since and all the self loathing has returned....I would love to say its the fault of the diet but if I am honest I have eaten crap and paid the price. The whle reason I am on lline tonight is I am thinking og going back but it is such a lot of money. Have also contacted a local cambridge diet counsellor but dont know much about it except its half the price.

Ll v cd

hi just read your post , i too did ll but switched to cd after a few weeks the diets are very much the same only cd is alot cheaper and to me taste better also cd has a wider range of shakes soups bars and moose mix available, good luck with which ever you choose you know you can do this.

Cd?

hi, i really want to try lighterlife, but the problem is i'm only a student and i can't afford £70 a week. i am more than three stone overweight so i would be suitable for lighterlife, but i can't afford it. so, my question is what is cd, a slimming club or a brand of shakes etc. ? also how much does it cost and how quicjly are you losing weight?
thanx !!

Maybe try any low carb ketosis diet

Hi! If you can't aford LL maybe you could try another Low Carb diet that will put you into Ketosis like the South Beach diet ot Atkins diet etc? Those kind of low carb Ketosis diets also offer around a stone/14 pounds lose per month too plus you get to eat real food.

Hellloooooo all!

hey all just reading up ion what you guys think of the lighter life diet, i personaly love it, its so easy and the counseling is fab, its so surprising how much you learn about your relationship with food, once youve taken it out of your life. im just starting my 5th week and have lost 2stone already and feel fantastic, i would deffinatly recomend the diet to anyone, and just htink how much money your saving per week on food!!!!!!

Lighter life

I tried lighter life last year when i had reached my heaviest weight ever. I lost a stone in 3 weeks and then fell off the wagon and put 2 stone back on. I have done some research and i think the problem is that once you go down to 500 cals your metabolism slows down alarmingly, especially if you cannot exercise whilst on the diet because of having no energy. You also lose muscle on the diet which further slows your metabolism. Then when you start eating again, you have no muscle and a really slow metabolism which means that even sticking to a low fat diet is going to make you pile on the pounds faster than you can imagine. A friend of mine had her metabolic rate tested at the end of LL and it showed that she only needed 700 cals a day to maintain her weight!! The only solution is to find a way to increase your metablism whilst in the management phase through exercise, to increase your muscle mass so that you burn more calories. Also when off the diet, eat 6 small evenly spaced meals a day and still drink at least 2 litres of water. Otherwise you may find that you can never maintain your weight unless you eat less than 1000 cals a day for the rest of your life, which is not healthy!

Weight gain

Hi there, I did LL from Feb 06 to August 06 and lost 8 1/2 stone and got down to a BMI of 20. I kep the weight off for 6 months until I had an operation and could not exercise, I started eating badly again and managed to put on nearly 7 stone from Feb 07 to August 07! I tried to get back on track as I had some packs left and managed to go on for a few days and then would come off again - I am now back on properly (attending meetings again) and am in week 7 and have lost 2 stone 4lbs. So yes the weight came on really quickly and the only way I could get back on was to go back to the classes.

Lighter life

Well welcome to my would 3 stone off only to put 4 stone back on
are you still on the lighter life road ?

Lighter life

I too lost 3 stone but have now gained 1.5 stone. I didn't feel that the Management part was as good as it should be. Just given the book and told to read what to do for that week. Did you have any training on Management?

My lighter life

I loved it, i was totally commited to doing the weight loss program and did so for about 6months loosing 5st however, started to eat in feb, simple things like salad, cottage cheese and was lucky if i was averaging 1000 cal per day but the weight has piled back on. 8months later i am now 6st heavier!!!!!! to make matters worse the weight is all around my tummy so no clothes i have fit. cant commit again to diet have tried and failed. it definately isnt the answer
