This may help

My friend just lost 10lb in 2 weeks, and that is just the start - she said.

The key to her success was to lose body fat without reducing her lean muscle mass. This is achievable by eating enough protein as this keeps your metabolism revved up. Every pound of lean tissue burns 14 calories per day compared to only about three calories burned for each pound of fat per day. So keeping the lean muscle mass and losing the fat helps you burn more calories at rest.

Eating enough protein sounds easy enough, but you have to be careful not to consume the wrong kind of protein that contain too many bad fats and calories. Soy protein has a different composition from animal proteins, and this makes it healthier for your blood vessels.

She said it is also important to drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated.

She went on this website for information: http://www.gr82losew8.com .You can also get a free body fat measurement on there as well - looked pretty good to me.

Good luck to you all, I will let you know how I get on.

Just wondering how you got on?

I am thinking about starting LL or CD and was just wondering how you got on? Which did you go for and did it work for you?

Starting week three

Hi Sarah
I have just started my third week on LL.The first week was a lot easier than I thought it would be and you soon get used to the soups and shakes. I made them quite thick to begin with but have thinned them out more now. I lost 9lb my first week and 4lb this week.I hope to lose another four or five for next week. It is amazing that you dont feel hungry and it does actually educate you about food as well as it stops you from picking and snacking. The group sessions are great and are a big help.If you want to know anything else let me know.
Take care
Vicky

I'm 2 weeks in and doing well..

I've been on it for 18 days and I lost 21lbs in the first 2 weeks! I've not felt hungry or cheated once and it's going well. The difference between LL and Cambridge is that LL has a group so you get support and bonding whereas CD is one-to-one. I prefer the group environment and have already had loads of help from the other women. It is more expensive but the cognitive therapy should help us face why we overeat and change whereas CD doesn't have such strong emphasis on the afterwards part, from what my friend who did it has told me.

I think it's a case of you pays your money and takes your choice. I'm certainly extremely pleased with LL and I think the early results speak for themselves.

If you're interested in a more detailed look at what it has been like, I have started a LL blog and have been pretty good at posting every day so far with piccies and measurements and everything! It's at livetoslim.blogspot.com

Good luck whatever you choose to do - it's really worth it!

Try cambridge!

I am in my 3rd week of the Cambridge Diet and have already lost 11lbs. It is virtually the same as the Lighter Life but has been going a lot longer and is also half the price!! Give it a go, what you got to lose except weight?!!!

Absolutely!

I would have to agree with gillyr above. Give the Cambridge diet a go, more flavours and as stated half the price and to put it bluntly are you really interested in why the person opposite is overweight when you have forums like this to chat on! At least with Cambridge you can see your councellor at a time that will suit you and do not have to adhere to a set time twice a week. I was going to do LL but decided against it for reasons stated, have just completed 4th week Cambridge and have lost 1st 2lbs. Find it a totaly no brainer and it is an amazing experience not to be thinking about what I am going to shop for and in what sort of delicious way I am going to prepare it - hence the problem in the first place! I am VERY good with food, shopping, preparing and eating it! Best of luch to you though in whichever system you follow !

Go for it.

I am starting my 4th week of Lighter Life and feel Fab, i've lost 1stone 2.5lb in 3 weeks, and couldn't believe that after the first week i'd lost 11.1/4lbs.
i would really recomend this diet to anyone considering, but you have to be focused and really want it. I haven't cheated and find the counseling sessions really helpful. if you really want it go for it. i've started swimming and walking to which is really helping the weight loss, and an treating myself to beauty treatments instead of food as a reward!
good luck to anyone who is considering it.

Lighter life...

What i can say i lost 5st in 3 months!!!!!! This is working but after this i didnt have anough monay to stay on cuz i have quite bad accident at work and i came back to normal food-high protein just meat and salads everything like in secound book from LL... but problem was whenever i had something like few M&M or crisps i just couldnt cope with guilt! Is hard to have normal food after 3 months and what i was reading that body take fat from everything after long period of low calorie diat.. and i came back 4st eating healthy.. If somebody is strong to cope after diet finish thats great but if not then a lot of monay going just away i was saving 4 this diet for 4 months and i was happy after i finish but not to strong to cope at all. If somebody want i can send pictures before and after diet. I wish all the best and this really work!
