Lighter life...what a question
Hi, I'm on Management with LL at the moment and I've lost 4 stone. A friend of mine has just lost 10 stone. We both look fab and I recommend people do this diet. I've tried the Cambridge, slimming world, weight watchers, the cabbage diet...the list goes on and on and none of them worked. I found this diet easy to follow and the meetings once a week are vital.
It's £66 a week and although that's a fair whack it's worth every penny. I would do it all again and I'm sorry I didn't do it years ago! I'm now a size 10 and I'm really loving it (not to mention my husband!!)

Re lighterlife
Hi there,
I only registered because I saw your post. I am on LL and am on week 17. In that time I have lost 6stones. At the same time a friend went on it and lost 3. It is AWESOME...life changing and I would recommend it to anyone.
The first week is HARD, but it gets easier & becomes a way of life quickly. The only down side is cost, but this is worth every penny for the weight you lose.
Hope this helps,
Sallyr3

How much does it cost?
Hello sally how much does it cost?
|
|

Cost £66 week
Hi there PP, I asked Sally the same question. Looks like its £66 week. Are you considering starting lighter life? Marina

Cost
Hi Sallyr3,
I only registered because I saw your post. Well Done for losing all that weight that's fantastic.
My partner and I are considering joining lighter life
You mentioned the cost- how much does it work out per week ?
I can imagine myself missing hard food and the crunchiness of food if the diet is mainly 'shakes'- how did you cope during the hard times ?

Health advice please
On a recent visit to my GP I told her that I had tried every sort of diet but nothing has ever worked- been over weight all my life and I've just turned 50! She suggested that I might try LL but I'm concerned about whether it would be safe with my health problems and the medication I'm on. I'm type 2 Diabetic, controlled by diet and tablets. I'm also on a lot of tablets for high blood pressure and have problems with my kidney function and liver function. I know you have to have medical advice before starting the diet but I don't have a lot of confidence in my GP so I thought I would ask if anyone out there has the same problems or if you know if it would be safe for me to start LL in my position. I know loosing weight would benefit my health but I don't want to make things worse. I lost my Mum in August and I'm going to be a Grandma for the first time in April so I'm keen to be as healthy as possible for my family. Best wishes to you all.F x

Another alternative....
I have a friend who tried lighterlife and lost three stone. SHe hasn't gained the weight back and she said that whilst she was on the plan, her hair, skin, nails etc were the healthiest they'd been in years and that she felt amazing.
I have a history of eating disorders, but despite that, had somehow got to the point where my life was one huge binge episode. I went to my doctor and got in contact with my old eating disorders psychiatrist.
I couldn't afford the £66 a week for lighterlife, so instead went out and bought Complan (a meal replacement shake not advertised in association with weight loss, but for people who are ill/out of hospital and can't eat etc). The shakes cost about £3 for four (so £12 per week), and each one has around 250cals when mixed with water. They taste great, come in a range of flavours, and offer the same nutritional content as the lighterlife shakes.
For me using this method was like psychological freedom for the first time in years. If you have serious issues with food, and use it as an emotional tool instead of nourishment, then something like Lighterlife is perfect. However, in my personal opinion, you would be much better off going to your doctor and telling them that you need counselling for your issues with food. That way it's free, and focussed on your own past as opposed to being quite generalised. Then get the Complan and make it work for you.
Hope this helps xx

Lighterlife is a must !!!!
i am on lighter life. i have been on it now for 10 weeks, i weighed in at 19 stone 5 lbs when i started. i now weigh 15 stone 5 lbs.... that means i have lost 4 stone so far. i felt the same as you before i started. i have been on almost every diet and have never done that well. i dont have much will power and always seem to give in. well i went for a consultation for lighter life and was given all the information. i was not pressured to start the program, i left the appointment and disscused it with my husband before deciding to go for it. when i started the first few days were so hard i had bad headaches i was told this was detox and it was all over after only 4 days. by day 5 i was feeling well with more energy than i have ever had. i lost 12 pounds in my first week. this program is different from any other i do not feel hungry at all. i only wish i knew abt this 20 years ago !!!! hope this helps

Words of wisdom?
Hi,
I am going to see the counsellor tomorrow and hopefully starting between Christmas and New Year. I am nervous but excited about the programme and dreading the first four days as I believe these can be challenging! My friend started 9 weeks ago and has lost in excess of 2 stone and she looks so good. If you have any motivational ways to keep focused I would be grateful if you would share them with me as reading your email you have followed the plan and been successful! Looking forward to hearing from you

I too have a daughter getting married next Aug and i want to lose 5st before then. My daughter loves me as i am but i hate myself and know i will hate every photo with me on if i look like i do now. Perhaps we can hook up and encourage each other. look forward to a reply. Julia

Day 9 for me
I lost 10pound in the first week, which has motivated me to keep going, I found that drinking so much water and the soups and shakes I could not face more fluid so skipped my normal coffees and so had some caffeine withdrawal. I dont really feel hungry but do miss eating, the social side of things im finding the hardest going out for a nice meal etc, it is too terrifying to think of not eating for 100 days so im taking a day at a time and thinking out of my life its a short time.

That is brilliant weight loss!
Well done! My first weigh in tonight! Regards.

'go for it'
Think about how unhappy being over weight makes you feel, thats what made me decide to do it.i want quick results,im 19 and havent had a chance to be like all the other young girls in little tops etc.ive been on it for 1 week now and ive lost 11 pounds. At first you feel abit light headed but after about 4/5 days you feel fine.Seeing how much you lose in your first week is worth it all.I dont care how much money i have to spend i want to be slim.I buy my lighter life food off ebay because my doctor wanted too much money to do my medical.my determination alone will get me through this and help from my mum.I think sticking to regular exercise after will be the key. I say go for it its working for me.Just ask yourself how much you want to be slimmer. Lifes to short. If not eating really doeant appeal to you try atkins thats works if you stick to it. hope ive helped. good luck
