Give it a try!

Hi
I have just completed my first week on lighter life and have lost a stone in weight!! I'm not going to tell you it has been easy as it most definately hasn't been but hat other weight loss programme can boast of results like this! I haven't felt hungry all week but I have thought about food non stop, I got to the stage where I was coming in from work and going to bed to avoid thinking about food! I felt like everything I watched on tv was talking about food, my dog began to look like a potential food source running around! Seriously you really have to weigh up what means more - a moment of weakness with a bit of chocolate or your future health, well being and happiness. It will be a tough first week but hopefully things can only get better!!!

I'm doing it again

hi
i did LL about 6 years ago and managed to lose 7 stone 4 lbs, i have put most of the weight back on now and have just enrolled to start again this week. It is the only thing that has worked for me and i did manage age to maintain my weight loss and new healthy way of live for quite a while and then i lost it, so back to starting again. Its taken me a long time to get to this stage again, but I am doing it now as I have a 10 month old baby boy called Edward. Of course I want him to be happy and there is only one thing in life I don;t want him to be and that;s fat, therefore I need to change now before I start to influence him. I'll keep you posted on my weight loss, I averaged about a stone a month last time, with more at the beginning, I also went to weddings and on a hen weekend with my packets of food, it was all worth it and you get used to them. An electric hand mixer is essential though!

Me too!

Hi just wanted to say goodluck! I did LL about 2 years ago i lost three stone but unfortunately ran out of funds once i got to the management stage...i also have a son, he's three years old and i want to be fit and healthy and happy and give him the best care possible which is why i have decided to give it another go making sure i can afford to complete the maintenance and keep it off this time!!! Its hard at the moment only in my 2nd week but have lost 8 pounds so far! I recommend this diet to any1 who has issues with food like comfort eating! xx

Lighter life

Hi there I am 20 years old and a miserable 15 stone i dont have any idea how i let myself get this big ive tried dieting, havent we all but even though you gain a little success i end up putting more weight back on, I heard about lighter life and was interested in it myself although i find it difficult to think i wouldn't be eating normal food does anyone have any good things to say about the LL programme and sucess storys and also could someone let me know roughly how much it costs to take part in the programme many thanks. x

You can do it!

Hi there

iwant2beslim "I just wanted to say that if you've got the money do it". I'm 27 and have yo yo dieted since I was 13 and I know that if I got slim just once i'd never want to go back. I'm just sorting out the money and then i'm joining LL. I've worked out that at 15st I would like to loose 5 of them so going on the average of losing 1 stone a month at £66 that is about £1320 yikes!! it'll be worth it!

Good luck

Go for it!!

Hello

I have been where you are, fed up with diets and then putting it all back on again and some!LigherLife is the easiest diet I have ever done, there are no decisions to make about points or calories it is simple you don't eat anything.....I started on Jan 4th 07 and bearing in mind I still had lots of chocolates, biscuits etc left over from Christmas, I just thought that if this diet doesn't work for me then nothing will and I could not face the future carrying all of this extra weight. I was wearing size 18-20 clothes and the week after I started on LL I bought a size 16 skirt in the sales and used that as my target, unfortunately I can't wear that skirt because I now wear size 10-12. As for the cost it is £66 per week and to me that is a lot of money but bearing in mind that includes all of your food packs and therefore each meal works out to £2.35 but trust me it is worth every penny.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Lighterlife

I went on the lighterlife diet last year for 70 days and lost 21/2 stone. I found it hard to start with it did get easier becauseI did it during the summer months/ I did not like the group counselling sessions and would have liked to get weighed and purchase the sachets. I do think that slimfast can have the same effect and works out cheaper. It does the same thing as atkins but at least you can eat food on atkins and when I did that Ilost a stone in 3weeks

Ll success story

Hello Hopefilly,

I have completed LL from Foundation to Development to Management and beyond. I lost over 100lbs and reduced from size 24 to size 10/12. I reduced my BMI from almost 41 to under 23. I reduced my body fat % from 49% to 22%. I started last August and stayed on the programme during a European holiday, lots of birthdays and parties, and Christmas/New Year. It is the most easy and the most difficult diet I have ever done, and the only diet I have ever been successful doing in over 30 years of trying. The cognitive behaviour therapy was useful to me, as were the weekly group meetings. The Management part helped me to reintroduce food slowly and methodically over 12 weeks so I could develop new and better eating habits. The whole family benefits and I can see that they are so much happier with a Mum who is at peace with herself for the first time. The programme is strict in that you only eat four packs a day and drink four litres of water a day, you can additionally drink black coffee or black tea. That's it. It is a VLCD which causes the body to go into Ketosis in order to burn all the excess body fat. As I mentioned already, I have vastly reduced mine. Ketosis also reduces any feeling of hunger, and this is a welcome side effect! It can also cause you to feel more energetic and have a happier frame of mind. It is not for the faint-hearted though, as socially it can be difficult. I faffed around for months before deciding to do it. I knew it would work, was worried about social situations being spoiled. It was not too difficult to work round them and I got lots of advise and support from my LLC and group. Hope this helps.

Lighter life!i hope!

Just registered to start lighter life on th 31st of this month really nervous though tried other diets 10 times over with no joy but just know i'm in the right frame of mind this time..............

If there is anyone out there that is about to start and would like to keep in touch to compare notes think it might help!!!

And for all people that doubt this diet my good friend lost 6 stone on this diet and has kept it off 2 yrs on so there is hope.

Lighter life

Lighterlife! i hope!

Hi jojop,
I started LIghterlife 9 weeks ago and have lost 2 1/2 stone.
I have so far found it relatively easy apart from dreaming about sausages chasing me! This was my last attempt at dieting after wasting probably thousands of pounds over the years, and gaining weight instead of losing it! You name a diet, I've been there and done it and failed dismally.
I have PCOS (polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) which makes losing weight virtually impossible because of the inclusion of foods that should be avoided by women with the condition. Yes it is expensive, but I can assure you, that once you see the outstanding and guaranteed results, it's worth every penny. Plus, It's not forever is it?
Best of luck, I'll be thinking of you.

Kind Regards
Liz

Lighter life! i hope!

Hi jojop,

just started myself - first day tomorrow - good luck on the diet. I believe it is very good. fingers crossed.

Lighter life! i hope too!

Hi, Just logged onto this side and saw your message. I'm going to start the LL programme on Friday this week, so I would be happy to keep in touch and compare notes. I've tried 2 other major diets and have been struggling to lose anything since I gave up smoking in Jan'06. So a friend of mine recommended LL as she's been doing it for 6 weeks and is 2lbs off 2 stone! Another friend lost 3.5 stone in 2.5 months, so it really does work.

I'm in the right frame of mind this time to succeed......if I can beat the fags....I can now beat the excess weight!

Im on day 22

Hey, I started lighter life just over 3 weeks ago and it is the best thing I ever did, I have lost 17 lbs already and I am going 4 21 lbs for next week. If anyone is undecided on whether to do it, I would just say Go for it!

Hi

I am on day two, last night i was a grouch and my family were giving me a wide berth, this morning tho, woke up feeling great, bought a cheap hand mixer to make the soups/shakes last night and it works great. Got my stop-in on Thursday evening so will see how that goes, will keep you posted.

Hi to you!

Just started lighterlife today! Im also going to buy a hand mixer because the shakes have tasted awful with bits in! Got headache today but am very determined. Good luck!
