How is it going

how are you doing now? I am at the end of week 3 and looking forward to weigh in tomorrow.

best wishes

Keep at it

I am on day nine and lost 12 lbs in the first week. Finding it relatively easy so far! Have tried just about every diet with no willpower but stopping is just so much easier. I think the counselling is the key - have avoided groups like the plague in the past but feel committed to this already. Good luck.

Lighterlife

Hi, am new myself, but have to answer you. I have done lighterlife for just over a year and have lost over 6 1/2 stone, I do have more to go though. Its really great for the lighter ladies who only have the 3 stone to lose, its a lot harder if you have loads to go. I found the group counselling hard to understand and also as my weight went on over a longer period, I had further to go back in my mind and try and get the answers. I also found it hard with a counsellor that had only lost the 3 stone, but in our group's mind had a lot more to go and would insist on wearing crutch tight trousers which made us all wince!
I do feel great and active, wearing lighter and thinner clothes is great for moral. However, it is not cheap and you have to buy the full week's packs whilst you are in abstinence on the programme, its not explained that well and if you go on holiday in the three months/100 days, you have to pay for packs to take with you. Cold drink powder is extra, and also the savoury drinks. Which make it quite expensive. I have since stopped as I found it really hard as I felt deprived of food, so I am now having hypnotherapy.
Hope that helps.

Lighterlife coupled with hyponetherapy

Hi, was really interested to read your message as I embarked on Lighter Life towards the end of 2005 and lost 4 and a half stones in weight, but decided to take a break for Christmas when the class came to an end, with a view to returning in January 2006 but for various reasons didn't go back and over the last year and a half the weight has crept back on again. I went back to Lighter Life this week and am also thinking of having hypnotherapy. How are you finding it? Does it help? The person I'm thinking of going to does NLP (neuro linguistic programming) techniques and I'm hoping it would help to make me "eat to live", rather than "live to eat".

im on lighterlife week 14

I am 14 weeks into lighterlife. I am 5lbs away form my 4th stone. Never successfully lost weight before prob neeed to lose another stone but am losing focus. I would recommend the packs taste...well naff but you get used to them (apparently Cambridge taste better) but the weekly group is central. I have found the sessions invaluable in addressing my inappropriate use of food for comfort boredom etc?

Lighterlife

Hi, just signed on here. I lost 70lbs (5 stone) in 5 months last year and felt wonderful! The best I had feld in years and years! Still got some to loose though and have embarked on another sole source diet, this time though it's Cambridge Diet simply because it is half the price of Lighterlife and I needed to have different flavours. Give it a go, you won't regret it!

Lighterlife

Hi There , please please do not try Lighter Life . it is not healthy for you or your body . I joined their programme some 2 years ago , lost 2 stone and ended up with severe stomach issues caused by their drastic dieting regime . the whole programme costs you so much money and in the end you will put the weight back on as soon as you start eating normal food .

there were a lot of us on the programme and at least of the women became ill .

if you really want to lose weight , have a look at the body clock diet . you eat 5/6 meals a day , smaller than normal but it helps you increase your energy levels . it really does work , I promise .

amazon can order you her book , Lyndel Costain .

there are no quick answers to losing weight , believe me I have tried every diet there is . In the end it came down to reducing the amount you eat and some kind of exercise .

I am sorry that this message is not a positive one . however using the body clock way does and will make changes to your body . if you need anything else pls do contact me

take care
much love & God bless

Help please!!!

Hi, i had a tummy tuck last July, which is fab... BUT, i developed a massive hematoma(bloodclot) in midrife area, which i am still having treated. It is painfull with too much exercise, and im scared it will burst!! I am so unhappy with myself, i had a nervous breakdown 9 weeks ago, i just cannot stick to a diet. At the mo it,s Slimming World,im thinking of Lighter life, but sounds expensive. Does anyone know how much Cambridge diet costs???.I am on hols in 3 weeks HELP!!!!.XXXX

Hi

CD costs £48 per week and Lighter Life £66pw. CD has more flavours but I think the LL is better as you also get councilling which addresses any food issues you may have, therefore you'll be less likely to put the weight back on. I also think once you calculate how much you spend on food during the week (snacks and lunches while your out as well) it works out the same. I was spending £14.50 on Starbucks mochas alone per week!

Lighterlife is great!

hi all
ive been doing lighterlife for 5 weeks now and have already lost 1 stone 8lb and feeling great,im really enjoying not having the decision to choose what to eat next.I work full time and cook for my husband and 3 children everynight and dont find it atall difficult to say no to food. The foodpacks are very nice, but not really keen on the bars.I am determined to loose the weight i need to on lighterlife as ive tried all the diets going and failed. So my advice to anyone who is thinking about starting the programme is ,Go for it you wont regret it!

Julie

Hi julie

i have got my introduction meeting this coming saturday and have got about 4 stone to lose - you seem to be doing great - have you got any tips ?

Balanced eating plans

Hi, why don't you try this: http://www.balansator.com/balansator.php. It allows you combine different food products to prepare your own nutritionally balanced meal plan.
I find it quite useful. Good luck!

Newbie

Hi there, I'm new to the boards, and only stumbled upon it as I was looking for others results on lighter life. I've been on the diet for 3 weeks on sunday. I lost 13lb in the first 2 weeks, and I weigh in again on sunday for my 3 week result. I went on the diet after seeing a friend achieve great results on it. I've had moments of tiredness, as I work out doors and am quite an active person, but I've had moments of real joy, when I realise that for the first time in my life the weight I want to be at is attainable.
The counselling has already given me a sense of........ I guess you could say empowerment! I feel in control of my destiny as far as my body shape goes, and I don't feel like any one or anything can stand in my way now. The cost is negligible, considering I am spending nothing on buying food or drink, which obviously includes from the supermarket and restaurants/cafes etc. The way I see it, £66 per week for a limited period buys me; the chance to attain my chosen weight goal in a healthy way, and with that the likelihood of living a longer healthier life. But most importanlty, what no other diet has ever offered me, the opportunity to change my relationship with food so that I can maintain that healthy weight.

I've found the positive feedback on here very helpful.... I just hope I can get the same results.

Lighter life for 3 months

Hi. I started LL just on 3 months ago so still on 100 days programme. I have lost 4.2 stone and 23 inches off my body. I have dropped 4 dress sizes and feel amazing! Firstly I would say that this is the best thing I have ever done! Then I would highly recommend that you drink at least 6 litres a day and not just the 4 as the more water you drink the more weight you lose! Also start exercising as soon as you can - just 30 min a couple of times a week will do. It helps! Also your weight will fluctuate quiet a lot so don't worry about it. Do lots of other things like pampering yourself. If you are interested to find out about my journey thus far I have a blog at www.tamarpeterslighterlife.blo gspot.com. This will offer loads of tips on things that I have done to help my weight loss but also my weekly journey. Like you the best part was what is going on inside my head! Enjoy

Inspiring

thanks for the reply and for the blog details - great reading and I am going to give it a go. Went to a lighter life demo and decided that will give this a go - feel I need the counselling support and hopefully this time will keep the weight off! First meeting next Tuesday and will start on Wednesday (day after I go back to work after the hols which probably isnt great timing!). Am worried about getting through the first few days but looking forward to getting going. Thanks agin.

Janedevon

am thinking about doing this diet - have previously tried Lipotrim - much cheaper - but feel I need the counselling to help me maintain weight loss. Is it worth the extra money ~£36 per week?
How have other people found the first few days of Lighter Life - have you managed working okay?

Jane

Doing really well

Feel free to view my blog on my 3 months of LL - www.tamarpeterslighterlife.blo gspot.com. Gives you loads of tips on how to lose an average of 4.6 pounds a week and my weekly experiences. Drink 6 litres a day as 4 is not enough - the more you drink the more you lose!
Enjoy!

Well done newbie!

Just wanted to say congratulations on your great weight loss. I am starting my fourth week tomorrow so hope at weigh in tonight I have lost a stone or over in total. I am just getting to grips with the diet though and have to admit that I have struggled quite alot. People who have done it tell me it gets alot easier and you have an energy boost as the weeks go on so I am looking forward to that. Let me know how you get on x

Lighter life

The diet IS nutrionally balanced and it is expensive but it works!!!!!36 llb off now !!Love the feeling.

Go for it.

Dont do it

A stupid cost, nutritionally unbalanced, you lose the weight quicklythen put it straight back on. Its been shown to have bad side affects. You have to drink 4 ltrs a day of water: this is to fill you up,
