Aliscott sis you speak to your gp?

Hi Aliscott,

I am interested to know whether your gp agreed to paying for you to start the lighter life programme?

I have tried weight watchers, slimming world, even been under the dietician at the hospital, was given reductil and another tablet, none of which have worked.

My boyfriend porposed to me 5 weeks ago, and we are planning to get married in a year and a half. Only problem is i don't want to be a fat bride. I have read so much about lighter life and want to give it a go as i really think it will help me. It's exactly what i need. One problem though - £65 a week is a BIG problem - i can't afford it.

I was thinking of speaking to my gp about it, then read this and wondered if you had had any luck.

Has anyone had any luck with getting lighter life on the nhs? If so, please advise what i can say to my dr to help persuade!

Thanks, Emma

Alternatives

I am now doing lighter life - which i am paying for. However have done a very low caloriediet in the past through my gp LIPOTRIM. I still had to pay but only £30 per week which is a lot more affordable. I really feel I need the counselling now to help me stop the yo yo dieting i have been doing for years hence lighter life this time. The lipotrip progamme is also available through pharmacies. Try www.lipotrim.co.uk. Having said all that so far lighter life is brilliant and I like the group support (would have run a mile from it a few years ago!!) Must be desperate or getting old.
Good luck

Diets

Did the Lipotrim work and was it any good. i really do need to do somthing about my
weight that i can afford and that works.

Possibly

Go and talk to your GP, as you are mobidly obease there is a possibility the NHS will pay for you to go on one of the programmes....more than likely lighter life. But its more thank likely your GP will want to know that you have tried other methods or may even try prescribing you with reductil....or somethign similar but its worth a shot
