Thinking about starting on the cambridge diet....

Hello all!

I was thinking about starting on the CD, does anyone have any tips etc.? Is it an easy diet to stick to? Are the shakes, soups tasty? Would you recommend it to anyone who needs to lose 5 stone. I did the 'Lighter Life' diet about 10 years ago which sounds very similar but there we had to have weekly meetings - does the CD plan do these meetings also? Any advice would be great!

Hello

I absolutly love the butterscotch and chocolate shakes, I put water the poweder and ice into a powerade bottle and shake like crazy, making the shake cold is the best idea. I am on my 2nd week and I lost 10.4 pounds in 1 weeks and 12.8 in 1 week and 1 day. It is REALLY worth it. You can go to weekly meetings if you choose to.

Just started the cambridge diet..

Hi All...

Day 3, am on four meal packets a day due to being 5'9 and was ecstatic today when I weighed myself to discover I'd already lost 6 lbs!

My goal is to lose 4 stone by my 40th on New Years Eve. I was initially going to go on LL after seeing my boss lose 4 stone in 7 weeks, but found it very expensive compared to CD and didn't really have the time for weekly counselling sessions. I was also delighted to see that CD had a lot more flavours available which keeps the diet 'interesting'. The hardest part for me has been drinking the water, but I'm getting used to it. I've not had any side effects yet, and am not feeling hungry. Losing the weight so quickly has been a great motivation to me to keep going! Definitely recommend!

Found the cambridge diet tough but have lost 3 stone on it, and kept it off for a year!!

I found the shakes very powdery even with a mega powered blender, however the tetra pack ready mixed shakes taste quite good almost like a mcdonalds thick shake,(especially the banana one)if you dilute it with the equal volume of cold water and a couple of ice cubes and shake it up in a plastic shaker.
The water flavourings are great if you wizz them up with the mix a mousse powder to make a free jelly to scoff at weak moments, (and it helps to get some of the extra water into you in a non liquid type way!). The flavoured water makes great ice lollies too. The bars are nice,(the cranberry one is the nicest) but you need to drink lots and lots of liquid with them so they don't bung you up! Have a giant cup of black coffee with them.
Good luck, the diet changed my life,I lost 3 stone and kept it off.My inspiration was my sister who did lighterlife,(she felt shee needed the extra support) and she has kept off her 8 stone for the past 2 years.

Cambridge diet

Cambridge diet is the same as LL without the counselling.
Shakes and soups are ok. Loads of flavours so I'm sure you'd find a few that you liked.
Not easy to stick to (I have to split my 3 shakes/soups into 6 smaller ones otherwise I run out too early). But I've been doing ok as I'm an all or nothing kinda girl!Lost 10Lbs in first week. Now on week 2!
Good luck....

Well done.

That must have given you an amazing boost to start week 2, so keep up the good work.

I am on my seventh day today and get weighed tomorrow, the funny thing is that physically I don't feel hungry but mentally my brain wants food!

I seem to have developed an acute sense of smell (from day four) and have started to be able to smell food smells that previously I would have been oblivious to ... it's either that or just mind games.

Do others also experience this or am I just having a mental breakdown?

Is this healthy?

hi guys well done for your loses but i have a quick question, how can it be healthy if you are loosing so much weight that soon, surly its water or muscle that you are loosing as they reccommend to loose 1-2lbs per week that way youre not effecting your mucles, and it keeps off, im only asking because it doent sound appelling soup and shakes, but i suppose its different for everybody. i have done all sorts of diets and have found that eating healthy and exercising is the key i have lost 3 stone only have half a stone to go.

anyhow good luck to everyone who is on this plan i hope you succeed x
forgive me if i have offended anyone im just wondering how you get back into a eating lifestyle after this x

It is healthy

it is healthy because the shakes, bars and soups contain 100% of all the nutrients you need in a day, your body isnt starving for food because you get everything your body needs to maintain. I lose about 10 pounds a week.
