On day 17 of cd have plateaud for 10 days.

At first weigh in after 7 days lost 9lbs at second weigh in nil pounds lost. Now in third week and still no weight loss. Am on sole source, drinking 3 litres water a day. its very depressing that despite the huge effort the weight is not going. Has anyone else experienced this? Feel like giving up.

How did it go...

Hi there - I would be very impressed if you'd kept this diet up. I am considering doing this as soooo desperate but so not worth it for you if you're just not losing. Have done slimming world in the past which is a fabulous diet dont get me wrong but I want results - quick!!!

so - did you give up or did it start to work again for you? really felt for you reading your post

Day 17

I was exactly the same
Pleeease do not give up
I remember i was so cross not losing weight on such a punishing regime, but i promise you will start to lose weight again- i put it down to fluid retention
I've lost 4 stones

Dont give up

Hi Just thought Id reply to say dont give up and promise it will start dropping off again, that was me for 2-3 weeks on CD SS I stayed same and felt like giving up,so know how you feel, I emailed on the minimims site(which I found to be brilliant, but since Ive changed internet provider it is no longer in my favourites and I cant find it)which I was advised same thing dont give up stick with it and the weightloss will happen again, which it did, one thing i would say is if you could drink 4 litres water day thats what i was advised, know its hard though, keep with it and good luck!! Ive lost 2 n half stone so far

Day 6 of cambridge diet

Haven't got any words of hope for you since I am a couple of weeks behind you but wondered if you are feeling less hungry and have got more energy as time goes on. I know someone who lost 2 stone in 6 weeks and apparently they feel great and have lots of energy. Bit disheartened to know you plateaued after only one week especially if you have been on sole source and not cheating, did your counsellor have any theories on this? Are you exercising? Personally I don't feel I have the energy to do any exercis, the most active thing I do is to try and evade my 5 year old and slope off to lie on the bed!

Anyway, hope that the weight is starting to fall off you now (although not too fast, 10 Years Younger last week showed a woman with so much loose skin after extreme weight loss she had to fold her tummy in!). I'd be interested to know what my future is if I stick with the Cambridge Diet!.

Diets

Hi Cheryl dont get despondent, not on sole source diet but have tried nearly every diet going and never lost weight!.I have a underactive tyhroid and in three years i have put on over three stone!.My neighbour passed on a diet from the hospital that you go on for 3 days at a time, then for 4 days you eat sensibly. In just over 3 weeks i have lost 11lb!! and for me that is some acheivement. So please dont give up because there is a diet out there that will work.If interested in diet im on e-mail me and i will tell you what you eat.
Best of luck on your weight loss
Debby

Don't worry, just keep going!!!

I lost 6lbs in the first week, 9 in the second then dropped to 3lbs in the 3rd and 4th weeks. I feel just like you but you've got to keep going, it will pick up again soon.

That's just the encouragement i needed!

Thanks for that. Its good to know you have experienced the same problem. I will stick at it with renewed vigour!

Cambridge

I lost 5 stone on the CD - I still have 3 to go after having a break. You may not be losing as your body is probably holding on to more water at the moment. It is a complete shock to your body so just stick at it and eventually you will flush all of it through.

So Dont worry and just stick at it

I'll be back on track soon and posting away!

On a break

Hiya
I notice you are on a break from CD
me too after 4 stones
I am sooo scared
Started SW but not really hungry- just picking at things
I also feel reliant on food packs ( never thought i'd say that)!!!
How are you doing??

Cambridge - making life so much better!!!

I have followed Cambridge a couple of times now and find I suits my needs brillantly. I did Lighterlife about 2 years ago and loved the discipine although all the psychoanalysis left a lot to be desired for me personally!I am an eternal gorger that I can't explain but I had a lovely childhood and average relationship problems but I still find it necessary to pig out when I can!!!

I lost 4 stone on Lighterlife but then found it necesssary to reward myself for all the strict routine I'd followed by eating normally (according to my rules). This led to a weight gain of 1.5 stone which with an impending marriage to the man of my dreams (another story !!!) meant I had to act promptly. On New Year's day this year I started again and managed to fit into my bargain size 14 wedding dress on Feb 11...had THE most fab day ever and have made a very good decision, possibly the best I ever made!

But love and complacency led to lack of attention to dietary things and there I was a week ago, feeling fat and frumpy and wanting another solution. I'm a 48 year old Uni lecturer who has done everything by the book...working with people who always seem to be together and in control but here was I, weak and open to temptation...not cool hey!!! Certainly not amongst my work mates..but I have an answer..my old mate Cambridge and I've been following it for a week. It's lovely - okay so the hunger during this first week gets me sometimes but the feeling I get from staying with it is nectar!

Each time. I lose 9lbs in the first week then the 2nd week 1-2lbs, have a plateau for a week or so and thereafter 3-4lbs a week. There are many low and high times but I always remember the fab feeling I get when I don't freak out on beng asked out to a 'do'.

I'm on my 3rd Cambridge venture which took a while coming..so many people asking us out for Bar-B-Qs etc now the hot weather's here (sometimes find it hard to explain the liquid diet thing, especially when one of your friends is a dietician who hates stuff like this and has much advice to offer!)

Going to Tunisia in 6 weeks and won't see hubbie till then but will feel fab because Cambridge always works for me....my hubbie is lubberly; never comments on my weight gain but SO does when he feels my extra confidence when I lose weight. He's gorgeous so I'm always looking for his reaction ... never felt luck like this before and C has been my best mate because it always rescues me when I need to.

I want to lose the weight I gained over the last 6 months and fit in my little jeans (for me!) and pretty tops...I'll keep you posted..going on 5 October so have about enough time to do it.

Jxxx
