First day!
Well my first day has just passed - I actually sat with my friends after work and drank water while they were on the wine! I am very proud of myself so far - hunger pangs arent so good and im kind of shaky but im assuming its food deprivation. I have tried this in the past and just not had the willpower to go through with it but this time I have a really good feeling. The weight has been creeping on since I moved in with my mother (home cooked meals!) and i never realised how bad it was. I am currently 13 and a half stone and a size 16 - my target weight is 10 and a half. hopefully realistic! I wouldn't mind being 11 stone I suppose, but idealistically 10 and a half. I hope I stay on it for the whole 12 weeks - fingers crossed! sole source is hard but from what ive heard from people maintaining the weight loss is even harder! Well, good luck girls

Cambridge diet
Hi I have been on the diet for just over 4 weeks. Finding it ok but do struggle now and then. Have so far lost 23lb. i find this the easiest diet i have done to stick to. In the first week i lost 5lb. Ask your counsellor for a couple of the ketosis test strips that they have.
Good luck

Cambridge diet
Hi thats brilliant losing 23lbs. That has given me motivation. I am still struggling but am in ketosis. Have signed up to lighter life magazine for motivation as well because it is a similar diet. I find the hardest bit is not hunger but actually the temptation. I went to a cafe yesterday and it was so hard just to buy a coffee and nothing else with it. I find thats the hardest bit socialising with the diet.

Cambridge diet
Hi I started the cd diet 2 weeks ago , I am really pleased with the results have lost 10 pounds but i am finding it very unsociable. My poor hubby has to fend for himself and eat his meals away from me. Although I am not hungry I am missing real food and sitting at the table with family therfore have decided to go on the golower. Have you tested your water to check if you are in ketosis your counciler should have some sticks.
Good Luck

Cambridge diet
Hi I am into my 15th day of sole source and including the 10 days prep I have now lost 23lbs. I have such a long way to go and it is hard when you still have to cook for the hubby and family.
If you have more than 4 stones to lose I would stick with it after all its only 12 weeks out of your life and for me I have been overweight and depressed for as many years.
Dont keep worrying if you are in Ketosis if you are sticking to the food packs only without any other nibbles you should be fine. I have type 2 diabeties and this diet is keeping my sugar levels in check in fact they have never been so good.
The first few days I was more tired than usual and just wanted to sleep. Listen to your body and if you are able to rest when you can. Also exercise as often as you can you will soon feel like buzzing around everywhere the tiredness does wear off.
Good luck to you all.

I AM ONLY IN DAY 2, FEEL A BIT EMOTIONAL (MIND YOU HAD A BIT OF A BARNY WITH THE OTHER HALF!!) I AM NOT SURE HOW I FEEL NOW I HAVE READ SOME COMMENTS ABOUT HOW MUCH OTHERS LOST OR RATHER DID NOT LOOSE. MAY BE I JUST SET MY SELF UP TO HIGH I REALLY WANT TO LOOSE THAT STONE IN THE FIRST WEEK, I AM 6 STONES HEAVIER THAN THE RECOMMENDED WEIGHT FOR MY HEIGHT AND FRAME . SO I TO HAVE A WAY TO GO YET!!! IF YOU STILL LOG ON PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU HAVE DONE THANKS MILKSHAKEMOMMA x

Cambridge diet
Hi I started the diet last summer, lost 12lbs in first week and then dropped out. Started again in November but went on the 1000cal plan and lost stone and half so far but with a lot of cheating over Christmas and birthday etc. On Monday finally thought to myself why am I messing about and wasting all this money, so decided to do sole source. On day 5 today. Had moments where I have felt like eating. Not because I am hungry but because its the norm. Am trying to use other things for comfort rather than food ie bath with candles, exercise etc. I am in ketosis but am finding it so hard just the thought of not being able to eat stuff like toast etc. Hope I can get there cause have never been this big before and have another three stone to lose and really want to look good for the summer. Any support would be very much appreciated.

Cambridge diet
Hi,
I am on day 6 of the Cambridge Diet. Just wondering how your diet has progressed. Did you manage to stay on SS for the whole 12 weeks and how has your weight loss gone.

Whoops
Dear Comforteater,
Just seen your post now from Feb and hope you are doing well and keeping on track.
You've given me hope. I tried CD SS last year and couldn't stick it however I am now on day 6. I must say that during the day I am fine but when it comes to sleeping I'm finding it really hard and one night went to bed really hungry which was horrible.
I had a girlie day booked today with a good friend and had decided to come off CD and will get back to it tomorrow. But it's such an awful feeling when I'd been doing so well. Don't think I'll do that again as I actually didn't even enjoy the food which is strange for me :0) I'll get there tho. It was nice to read that even tho you had your off times you still lost a lot of weight.
Good luck xxx

Cambridge diet
Hi,
I am on day 6 of SS finding it quite easy at the moment. I am taking more time for myself since starting the diet. I am taking exercise at the GYM every other day and really enjoying it. Did you have any dizzy spells when first starting the diet?

Porridge
I've found the porridge has made the diet so much easier for me this time just because it has substance and having had a day out of CD today (which was really stupid) the food made my tummy feel a bit odd. Any time I've wanted food or been tempted when out I've said to myself that food will still be there when I'm at my goal weight and I'll be able to enjoy it more then.
Keep going x
