Susannah

Someone has probably told you by now, but everyone's body clock is different so some might go into ketosis in 3 days some might take longer.
Also it depends if you had a binge before yoou started as yoour body has to work its way through that store first before it gets to what's already in your body.

"Ketosis"
Posted by jules524 1 August  at  18:13

Hi, i don,t do the cambridge diet but i do Aitkins which also relies on Ketosis. I buy Ketosis sticks off the internet, where you test your water, they are,nt dear and are the best way however you should,nt get too hung up on them as they do say it can depend on the time of day etc to how strong the reading is. hope this helps.

For those that are interested, there is also the South Beach diet, recently and the Michelle Montignac diet, which is probably the forerunner to these diets. Some people might find these easier and feel healthier on them than Atkins. I have known of several people who have lost stones so quickly, people thought there was something wrong with their health! I have recently tried to Lipotrim diet (3 powders a day)and although flagging(and cheating a little) by day four, lost 6 LB. I am going to use it now to start me off on a Montignac style diet, as the Lipotrim costs £46 pw!
Hope this helps!

"Cheating a bit"
Posted by struggle1 5 March  at  19:51

Hi
Im also on day 6 of CD and still am finding it very hard ,have not hit that point where Im not hungry(dont think that will happen to me)Im only doing it for 2 weeks at the moment because last year I lost 12lb in 2 wks but nothing in the 3rd .My plan is to stabilise whatever I lose at the end of 2 weeks by moving to low fat, protein based diet.I have added a bit of chicken to my soup, which I know is cheating but did it last time and it was OK.
Basically I find dieting a constant struggle- hence the name- but am determined to complete these 2 weeks.I will weigh on Friday and will post loss.Good luck and keep going.

Hi

I am in the 3rd week of the diet and have lost 1 stone half a pound, 9 lbs the first week and 5.5 the second!!!!!

I think its great, i have loads of energy, my skin and hair are great and i actually feel like i have lost weight. I guess im in ketosis at the moment, god knows i have enough fat to burn!!!!!! Only another 3 stone to go but im feeling really positive i can achieve it because the more you loose the more determined you get. Ive done many diets and quite frankly losing a pound a week is really depressing but if you can really see the scales going dowm fast it cheers you up no end !!!!!!

Message to susannah, if you are over 5ft 8 you can have four sachets a day, you might not be so tired if you can have another!!!!
"Day 7"
Posted by redcheese 9 September  at  09:05

hi Susannah, its been a while since you posted your question so did you loose anymore weight?? i hope you have, i am on day 7 and the last two days have been horrid. i have really had to talk to myself and keep remembering why im doing this. those nights out when i stand in my bedroom knowing full well that i will be wearing the same bloody clothes as my last night out because nothing els fits! how frumpy i look in my baggies. i normally have determination for other things but this is hard. i have lost 5lb in the first week but scared it will stop and i will loose the willpower. COME ON WE CAN DO THIS... julie

"Hi girls"
Posted by vix35 13 September  at  17:00

I have been on the diet now for 3 months in total with sole source at the beginning which was so tough, but the weight just falls off if you stick with it. I have now lost over 2 stone and only a few pounds from goal weight. getting back into my clothes from 2 years ago!! (Desperate for another wardrobe) and happy about myself and confident again. Its great. Also once you start the maintence with food you will still loose, and your eating. how cool is that.
All I can stay is stick with it, tell everyone your on it, so they undertand when you don;t want to go for that curry and beer, its totally worth it!!

"Well done!"
Posted by vixxy1 13 September  at  17:25

That's great to hear. Well done. You must feel great! I'm on Day 1 of 2.5-3 stone to lose and it feels such like a hill to climb.

I hate being so open about this, find it embarrassing but I agree with you that its best to tell everyone what you're doing. I'm going to see Prince tonight with some of my colleagues (all blokes) and it will be SOO hard to just drink...water!

i was there too on the 13th and guess what, i failed and had garlic chips with parmasan cheese, yummy...did you manage to get through the night better than me? he was sooooooooooo worth it though. i didnt come completely out of ketosis and still keep loosing so its fine. im also having a tiny bit of milk in my tea and still in ketosis. it seems to be trial and error
"Weight loss."

I'm not on the cambridge diet but I'm on the Lipotrim which you only get from chemists and have to be weighed but I started on Sept.lst and have lost lstone 7 lbs in 20 days! I still get hungry but maybe that's because I have to take so many pills in the morning and they have sugar in them. I also find it hard drinking 2 litres of water a day. I've got four more stones to lose and am going to break the diet as I go to spain this week for a fortnight's holiday so I'll need to start again. I read that someone had a problem with going to the toilet. All that water makes me run every half hour or so but it's good exercise and you only have a very watery stool every 3-4 days but that's normal as there's no fibre going in. I tend to keep a bit of the chocolate shake and then make coffee with it as if it's milk and that tastes good. This diet only has three packets a day, strawberry, vanilla, chocolate or chicken. I keep the chicken for a hot soup at night and that seems to fill lme a bit more. Has anyone else done the Lipotrim. My BMI has fallen from 38.85 to 36 in 20 days. xx
