Any buddies?

I'm 33 yrs old and have been on and off diets for as long as I can remember! Am just about to start another one using the Food Focus website, and wondered if there's anyone out there who would be my dieting buddy? xx

Hi

I may be a bit old at 62 but I've tried losing weight for 30 years and never managed it until I went on the lipotrim diet and have lost one stone 7lbs in 20 days. I still need to lose 4 stones but would be happy to buddy you when I get back from holiday on the 4th of October. How much do you have to lose. Depressing isn ... I ended up on antidepressants just becauseof my weight and had a heart attack so losing the weight is necessary for me to live. I've been scientifically tested and they found my metabolic rate is so slow that anything over 600 cals a day and I put on weight. Ridiculous but the Lipotrim is only 400 cals but made for hospitals for patients who need operations fast and they sell it at Morrisons and other pharmacies. Three shakes, two litres of water a day. What does your new diet involve?

Hi

I just wondered how much is your diet and do they do a lot of different flavours do they just sell it to you over the counter? cambridge is pretty much the same 3 shakes a day and at least 2 litres of water they do bars also which I must say are pretty yummy it costs from my counseller 35 pounds per week.Good luck sounds like you are doing really well.

Buddy

Hi Honeylamb,
Of course you'll do! Thanks for replying. Tell me about yourself. How's your diet going at the moment? I made a right pig's ear of it at the weekend, but am straight back on track today...

Monday

Hi Ya
Good to hear from you.
Today has been a good day. You can be the judge of whether I have been 'good' today.
I started off with a positive attitude.
4 slices of ham for breakfast (I was thinking Weight Watchers...protein...are you with me?)
I had a bunch of grapes thru the morning and resisted the biscuit tin when it came round at 11. Felt really righteous but ravenous at lunch time.
Home made Chicken and homous wrap for lunch. Nothing naughty in the afternoon and tonight home made shephards pie with tons of veg. I'd like to say I have not been tempted this evening but I did have a handful of cashews while Eastenders was on.

My fella has gone out and I am looking at the wine rack and thinking will I or wont I be tempted to have a little tipple before bed? I might just go get a glass of water, with lots of ice and a slice of lemon. Yeh, boring but my kidneys will thank me in years to come.

So how was your day?

Monday

Hi Honeylamb

I had a good day too. But then Mondays are usually good because I'm always starting fresh! By Wednesday, things go pear-shaped.

Are you following any particular diet? Weight Watchers? God, slices of ham for brekkie would leave me starving! You did great today. I'm sticking to my calories (about 1400), but I definitely don't get them from healthy foods! I have to have my choccie bar to look forward to, otherwise I'd lose the will to live!

Here's what I had today. Weetabix for breakfast, cheese bagel for lunch, lots of coffee, pack of iced gems, coco pops for tea, more coffee and a kitkat at night. See what I mean - not exactly hot on fruit & veg! Never mind, at least I didn't binge.

How much weight do you hope to lose? I want to lose a stone and a half.

Hope you have a good day today.

Tuesday over !

Evening Mandhop
(Why Mandhop if you don't mind me asking?)

Ok so Tuesday over. Again I was amazed how good I was.
Weetabix ??? Can't eat that stuff. I can manage porridge on a good day but cereal does not do it for me. I am usually starving by 9.30. The longer I go without food the less I need to have.
I think it's about keeping busy.

Do you work? I work in a Sales and Export Deparment. Half the day I am bashing away at the keyoard processing the paperwork to get the stuff through customs, the other half I am running around the building trying to jolly the warehouse to pack the stuff, get me the weights and dims and get the goods out the door. The busier I am the less I eat.
Today was very busy and I only started my grapes at 12.15. So the ham for breakfast was a sustaining.

Lunchtime I had to run errands so had a tub of couscous with cherry toms added. Ran round Tesco like a headless chicken trying to dodge the oldies (why do they come out at lunch time...they have all day !)and find a place to get a watch battery, which I got fitted but it does not work. I have to go back tomorrow.

Tea tonight was recycled roast from Sunday with fresh veg. Also had a bit of cheese while making Jonnies sarnies for tomorrow. Tempted to have a swig of the Baileys but will resist for as long as poss.

I should have gone to the gym tonight but worked 8.15 til 5.45. Just can't face it. Hoping to stay awake long enough to watch Silent Witness part II tonight. Should make use of the home gym we have..cross trainer, Eliptical trainer, swiss ball...yeh got them all collecting dust.

I also knocked the coffee on the head for a while and have been drinking .....Camomile tea with honey and vanilla. Yeh, I know it sounds a bit too good to be true but it really does make you feel less sluggish and has helped me sleep better. I read somewhere that you lose more weight the more sleep you get......maybe its because you are not raiding the fridge !!! But it seems to help me.

Not so sure about having a goal. We are off to Kos at the end of the month and I have been determined to lose a stone but has it happened??? I still have two weeks, kidding myself I can lose a lb a day hahahaha!

So how was today for you?
x

Hi honeylamb

Good to hear from you. Mandhop comes from Mandy Hopkins. Couldn't really think of anything cuter! Why Honeylamb?

You did well on Tuesday. Especially as you work all day. Your job sounds knackering. Must be hard to eat healthily. I'd be craving Mars Bars all day long. I'm a housewife (get looked down on for this). How old are you? Do you have kids? I have an 8 year old daughter. Couldn't handle more than one! Bloody hard work...

I know what you mean about keeping busy. When I'm bored all I can think of is food. It's terrible. Am very impressed you eat ham for breakfast! Are you on Atkins diet or something? I don't eat a lot of meat - just choc and junk food instead!

Is Jonny your husband? God I love Baileys too! It's gorgeous stuff. It's bloody hard going to gym at night. I get far too cosy on the sofa. I have an old treadmill at home. I try to walk 20 mins on it each day, but it's so boring! It certainly hasn't worked either. I just can't shift the bloody weight. Mind you, I know it's mostly down to what you eat. I reckon diet is more important than exercise.

I'm impressed you drink camomile tea. I just can't stomach herbal teas. Love the smell, but tastes like pondwater. Tried green tea once when reading it speeds up metabolism. Awful stuff.

I'm hoping to lose a stone and a half by January. Hoping to lose 1lb per week. Sounds achievable. But it never seems to happen.

Hope you have a great time in Kos. Great time to go away. How long are you going away for?

You can use my email address if you like (mandyhopkins@btconnect.com)

Have a good day.
