Cambridge diet - am i mad??

Well starting today - heaven knows how I'll manage, it would be fine without children to feed! I'm going on holiday in 2weeks & would like to loose a bit before then. So is there anyone who'd like to help keep me focused & I'll do the same back? Does anyone know how much I could expect to loose, I've got about 2stone in total? My counsellor was a bit loopy & rather large (doesn't instill much confidence) & seemed to charge rather more than a friend of mine who went somewhere else!

I've a very busy job & life (single parent - so you know it's all down to you) does this diet effect your energy levels as I need plenty to keep me going. Would just be wonderful to get into my size 12 jeans & not feel I'm being cut in half!!

Thanks - here we go..............

If you're mad, i must be too!!

Hi,

Just wanted to say that I am about to start the Cambridge diet too. I have a meeting with my consultant on Tuesday and although dreading, I am really looking forward to it.

Like you, I have children to feed too (four of them lol), which is my main concern.

Would be good to keep in touch with someone who is starting at the same time so if you would like a diet buddy let me know.

I have 3 stone to lose so not as far to go as you but feeling optimistic at the moment.

Good luck
Maria

Day 2

Hi Maria,

So are you going to start soon? I'm on day 2 & have to say am pretty hungry & have had a headache from hell today! But then I have been looking at a pc for most of it. My plan is to do the best I can & not beat myself up if I have the odd piece of fruit. I go on holiday in 10days so will do my best until then. Only got 2 stone to loose max so hopefully will see some inroads to that by then. I've been drinking peppermint tea which seems to help, not tried the berry mix yet but have got it, just keep forgetting. Let me know how you get on.

Good Luck

Diane

Re-started the cd after preg ....

Hi Maria,
I retarted the cd today and wana lose about 7 stones by easter hols....This is my second time of cd but i had to give it up the beg of this year cos i found out that i was pregnant. i had my baby in 2Aug unfortunately she died cos she was diagnosed of dandy walker..... i found t very hard to come terms with it, but, i think its time i've to be strong and move on with life as i have to look after my other doughter who's 18 months......

So, here i come, and im gonna win this time, im gonna be slim this time, and im gonna succeed this time...... this s whats i\ve been chanting abt all day ...........shows how desparado im lol...

Good luck all& rememebr u and u aonly can change and control ur life....hope to hear frm ya all..

Not mad at all!!

Sorry had to jump onto your thread, you are not mad at all!! I have been on the diet 9 weeks and have so far lost 36.5lbs and am loving it. You should lose more in the first week but the average after that is 1 stone per month is you are doing Sole Source. There is a forum dedicated to those of us doing CD and you will find lots of support there, I use it regularly when things get tough http://www.minimins.com/cambridge-diet-forum/

Wish you the best of luck with it.

Georgie

Fantastic

Well done Georgie, I take my hat off to you, not sure I'm going to be that determined, I shall just do my best for the next 10days before I go on holiday as would be good to have lost a few lbs by then. Not got that much to loose, but have to say it does get harder as you get older!

It's just so boring, I think that's the worst part (she says after only 2 days). It would be fine if I didn't have to think about or prepare food for the kids, but can't avoid it.

Day 3 tomorrow & pretty confident I can keep going a while longer. No idea when/if I'll see my councellor again, have to say I think the 2 I've had contact with are nice people but not so good on the motivation or following up how you get on. Think they took the money & then just left the rest up to you!

Good luck & keep on doing whatever you're doing!

Diane
