Golower

Have been reading some of the discussions on this board and have been replying to some individually. Just thought id start a new thread - most people seem to be following the Cambridge diet or lighterlife. I have friends following both at the moment, both are losing lots of weight but the cambridge diet friend seems to be in a constantly bad mood and the lighterlife friend is getting fed up of the counselling sessions.

I have just started the Golower diet, been on it for 6 days and have lost 5lb. I dont think this diet is as well known as I had never heard of it until a member on this site told me about it (she has lost 3 stone in 3 months) but I really recommend it as you are actually eating real food. Typical day: nuts and strawberies or a nutbar for breakfast which comes in either coconut or raspberry flavour, choice of three soups for lunch, Tex Mex, Pea and Ham, Cream of Onion, dinners are chicken curry, beef and onion meatballs, mushroom strogonoff, beef bourguignon, chicken tomotoes red peppers in white wine sauce, chilli beef. As you can see plenty of choice - you can add any green veg to these meals and extra meat if you like. I would be really interested to hear from anyone else following the golower diet - are you as impressed as me??

Go lower

Hi fatbuttercup. After following a low fat diet on and off for the past 20 years and recently not being able to lose the weight I thought I'd try something new.

I started the Go Lower diet 4 days ago and have lost 3lbs. The first 2 days were the hardest whilst my body made the transition, I had slight headaches and really couldn't be bothered doing anything. Now though, all that's changed. I've stopped feeling hungry, headaches have gone and i feel great.I love the variety of foods we have on the programme, it's so easy , what with a generally busy lifestyle and all I have to do is heat veg and my meal pouch - how much easier could it great. I would most certainly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Go lower

Hiya Fatbuttercup - what a lovely name!!!
Am glad found your review on Go Lower. Have been doing Lighter life since end Feb and lost 2 stone (I cheated or would have lost more).
Read about Go lower on an internet search and have decided to give it a go as you can actually EAT!.... what LUXURY!!!!
I have a few things to get over in the next couple of weeks and then am going to start! I hope I will be as impressed as you.
Most of the girls from my Lighter Life class have dropped out and are finding it really hard to stick to the longer it goes + it's expensive!
I look forward to starting GO LOWER in about 2 weeks!

How's it going?

Hi I am seriously new to this, having never used a chat room before! I am really interested re the Go Lower diet, seems to take all the hardship out of what to eat etc, but what about cravings? No more coffee and chocolate!! I go on holiday in a week and want to make a decision before I go, must do something to stop this slow weight gain. How are you finding it? Dee

Go lower buddies

Hello, Not too sure if you are still following Go Lower but I started yesterday and so far loving it (still in the very positive bit of a new diet). I have signed up to the programme so in detox just now so not got some of the meals you have mentioned yet, got them to look forward too.
Would love to chat with someone else following the programme. Xx

Still looking for a friend to diet with?

Hi. I plan on starting the Go Lower diet when I return from holiday in early April. Seems a lot of money but will be well worth it if it works. How is it going for you? Dee

Golower

Hi, My husband and I are just into our 5th week on go lower, I lost 10 lbs in the first week, fantastic! but nothing since...Same thing for my husband, he lost 7 lbs in the first week. We are quite disheartened at the moment, we have stuck to the plan and added more protein last week, we don't seem to be able to get the ketosis going. we test ourselves now and again. can anyone please advise?
Thanks
Diane

Hi

Hi there

Are you drinking enough water? I try to drink 8 pints of water a day which is sometimes so hard but try and I think you'll find it works. If you're not cheating, then ketosis should happen after about 3 days. Hope you'll try it and let me know how you get on.

Hi

I just started this diet 6 days ago too...I think it's really good.
I have just signed up for another 4 weeks I got a discount of 10% because I had ordered the trial week.

I am very very impressed with the food IT'S EXCELLENT and very filling...It does look like quite small portions at first, especially breakfast. However very filling I haven't been hungry at all. I have lost about 4 pounds so far and hope to lose around 2 stone in total
I'll keep you updated ..I hope you will let me know how you get on too

i'm new to this site and am trying to find some fellow Golowers.. i've just ordered my 1st week trial pack. The diet seems fantastic but i'm always cynical about diets as nothing ever seems to work for me. I have about a stone to lose and find i snack a lot usually, so hoping Golower will be the one for me!

Hi I have been doing golower since last tues afternoon i suffer from I.B.S since doing the diet i have not suffered from it, the food you get sent to your door is really tasty the bars are great to I work nights and its working for me just make sure you drink lots of water they say at least 8 glasses a day. When I first started the diet I had headache and feeling sick for a few days but after that its been great I have tried so many diets this one is so easy I would say give it a go for a week and see how much weight you loose. I havnt weighed myself yet I will do it tues morning.

Golower

Very good tasty food. I don't have a lot of weight to loose - perhaps 7 or 8 lbs so it might take longer to shake off - I'd never lose 5lbs in a week - I'd be quite worried if I did. 2lbs a week is my goal and recommended also by Weight Watchers.

Hi there

I am really interested in this diet, I have just booked the weeks trial. I am drawn to it for many reason -
1 - effective weight loss that puts you into Ketosis - extreme weight loss but not an extreme diet.
2 - Real food - quality ingredients, no colours or nasty bulking agents. Most extreme diets involve surviving on nasty shakes which does not really teach your body to eat well in the long run.
3 - This diet has been backed up by exceptional leaders of health & nutrtriton.

I am going to start it next week some time - keep me posted on your weight loss, I am excited about losing the 2 stone which has crept on over the past 2 years.

Lots of luck to you,

L.

Hi buttercup!

I refuse to add the "fat" tag as it seems you are really enjoying this diet.

How is it going for you now that you are nearly at the one week mark? What have the meals been like? Do you have a recommended water intake?

I stumbled upon Golower a few minutes ago when I was looking to see if there was a LL counsellor in my area.

I did LL a while ago and got down to target weight in a little uder the 3 months but then my counsellor left.

I have struggled to determine in my own head the way I should really eat now!! Since stopping 3 months ago I have put on 9lbs. I know this is not a lot but after 3 onths of shakes I don't want it to come back on.

Until I found the Golighter site I was all set to do another month of abstinence and use this time to get my head around the Glycaemic Load way of eating. I don't want to diet for life, just find a healthy way of eating that will suit the whole family.

Seeing your post has really interested me in Golower. As I say, I don't have the old masses to lose but maybe this would work to shift these last pounds whilst eating a healthy balanced diet, then I could to transfer these kind of meals into a GL plan to help maintain.

What do you think?

Thanks for your time, hope it really works for you, I am a different person since losing 3st!!

TT xx

Golower meals

Hi Trickytrace,

At the end of the first week I have lost 7lb and am absolutely over the moon. Golower recommend you drink a litre of water a day. The meals are really nice and very filling. Maybe you could try the golower for a week or so to see how you get on, im sure it will help you lose the last of your weight. I have just been messaging a member called emma and she has just ordered a weeks worth and said they had an offer on at the moment, maybe you should go on the website and find out what this offer is. Best of luck, let me know how you get on, nice to have some buddies to compare notes with.

Can you tell me more?

Hello.
I have a very busy job in London. Now is the time to lose weight, but i do not have time to exercise in the evenings or weekend.
With reference to your comments, how much exercise would roughly be required?

Exercise with golower

No exercise is required if you are not already doing any. Obviously there are health benefits from exercising but you will not necessary lose any more weight on this diet from doing any. I personally find if I go to the gym I get hungrier and then am tempted to eat something I shoudnt. If you have any more questions about golower then let me know.

Hello

I just need a diet, basically hassle free, what i mean is that i cannot be bothered counting points and wondering how many points is this or that.

No need to count points with golower

This is what is so brilliant about golower, you dont need to count any points or go to any weekly weigh-ins. The food is already prepared for you made from natural ingredients and all you have to do is literally microwave it or warm it up on the hob, add any green veg such as broccoli, green beans, cauliflower etc and you can also add extra meat if you want to.

Hi

This sounds too easy!
