Dreeded first time on the scales!!!

Hi all, I have been reading this forum since I started the cambridge diet last Weds. I meet with my consultant last Tuesday night for the first time. Well last night I went for my first weigh in (I was feeled with complete dreed!!! .

Any way I am 27 and my 28th birthday is next Thurday, my start weight was 14.11, and I am in a size 16 clothes. I have always struggled with my weight, at one point in my life I was with in a week of being hospitalised due to not eating (at this point I was going through I rough time at school, and put myself under huge pressure) I managed to get this under control and have since never been at such a bad point. I then rose to a size 20 clothes, which was the complete opposite!!! Over the last few years I have dieted, over ate, and my weight has been like a yoyo!!!.

Any way a friend of mine recomended the cambridge to me, I have thought about it and new it was time to try and look for a long term solution. So I gave it a go.

My first full day was last weds, and it was hard but bearable. Thursday was so terrible that I thought I was going to give up. I went to bed really early and cryed. But when I wook up the following morning it was completly different!!! I felt like a different person. Since then although some times have been hard it was got easier.

So back to the point..... I went and got weighed last night and I lost 8LB in 6 days, which I was really pleased with!!!! So I am now 14.3lb, only another 5 stone and 3lb to go!!! ALthough that sounds a hell of alot, at least I am back on track to get back into the size 8-10 clothes which are collecting dust at the back of my wardrobe!!!

I think that cambridge is an excellent option for me and possibly for people who LOVE food, as for the first 4 weeks (the hardest time for will power) it takes food completely out of the equation.

Good luck to any one else who is on a mission to a happy thin healthy life.

Yucky shakes

Hello
Well done you for starting. I stared the cambridge Diet September this year weighing 17.10, I now weigh 13.6!
But like you gipped at every mouthfull of drink... the soups are even worse, but my saving grace was the tetra bricks, chocolate velvet, they taste so good, and are really filling.

It is really hard doing the diet and you have moments when you think is it all worth it, after my 3rd day on the diet I made the decision if I hadnt lost weight I would give up, I weighed myself and had lost 12lb, I couldnt believe it, but it gave m the drive and determination to keep going, you will lie in bed at night and fantasize over food, But I keep thinking about Christmas dinner, thats keeping me going, as I know I will be down to my goal weight by then, and be a happier person. dont give up, do talk to people about how you feel..... but keep going, and get some tetra bricks!

Day 3

well it has been better today...getin used to going to the toilet evry hour...

do feel a little out of enery during the day...but survive. cant wait till my weigh in on tuesday...do feel a little lighter...

hope evryone else is progresing well...now that more of my friends kno about this am getting a lot of encouragement...

how do you guys space out the shakes, i tend to bunch them to the end of the day so i dont get hungry...

Hang in there

hey abu786, well done for taking the decision to make your life better. Im writing to you to let you know that im in week 7 of cambridge and have lost 25 lbs and 9 inches!!. it is hard in the first week but it does get better and if there are soups and shakes you dont like you can change them for ones you do. try the bars as well, i like the peanut, orange and cranbery ones best and i have the orange flavour in my water so its not too boring.i hope you do well.thinking of you, janice 9169

Keep at it!!

Hi, I'm on my 4th day and am 23 also (not male though!!!!) I found the first day really hard but the last 2 days have been fine. It really does get easier, I've just stopped thinking about food and got on with things. The only time it has been hard for me is when I've been making my partners dinner, it has taken all my effort not to lick the spoon or have a few mouthfuls, but I haven't as yet! Every time I come close i just imagine myself at my target weight and how much better I will look and feel (and how other people will look at me).

So far I have tried the choc mint and banana shakes and the chicken and mushroom soups. I found the shakes are nice but the soups are not the best!

I have as much weight as you to lose so maybe we could keep each other posted!!
