hi rosie, i am also new to everything here, i've never done this before, so this is great for me. i'm 52 and diabetic type 2, tablets. i also go to gym 3-5 times a week, but you know what they say, find some exercise you like to do, so i help my daughter with her two arab horses daily. this has got me into the exercise routine whilst mucking out stables, i have got fitter and then i wanted to ride again, so after 30 years i got back into the saddle. this all gave me confidence and its taken me 4 years to get to the stage i am today. find one piece of equipment you like in the gym and work on that only. it is best to warm up either by treadmill or cycling machine, and do that for 10 mins minimum. after that one other piece of equipment. you choose. keep to that until you are happy to increase it to something else or go longer. bitesize chunks of anything. i actually started swimming first to loosen me up and make me more flexible and supple to get into the saddle. choose something to aim for. i wanted to be able to ride again it took me 4 months but with diet changes and exercise i dropped 3 dress sizes. i think your carbs are way too high and many. i would cut those back a bit i find carbs make me put on weight and make my readings too high. again i would just cut down a little at a time and see how that works. although i know i must have carbs before i exercise to keep me going because when i finish i am hungary. i eat alot of bananas and apples and if a long session of doing exercise a small sandwich with protein. its a very personal thing and i am no way qualified to say about your diabetes and its control so i am only saying what works for me. i still have another 2-3 dress sizes to go down, so i am still "on the programme". i hope this helps. keep at it as exercise helps in all positive ways thats for sure and it will help the depression also. keep at it. one little bit at a time and write down afterwards how you felt about doing it and the result. forget weighing scales, go by dress size and change of shape. it is definitely worth every little inch. good luck jane
