Hi Gilly, I started Sole Source on the 3rd January, so halfway through week 2. My biggest problem is that I really hate milkshakes, CD or otherwise, but I'm determined to grin and bear it! At least in third week we can swop for a meal bar. My fave soup is Potatoe & Leek and if you make the Choc Mint shake with hot water it's quite like a hot chocolate drink. I have about 4.5 stone to lose, have lost 6lbs in first week but I don't weigh until the Councillor comes. Really missing wine in the evenings but I just go to bed and forget about it. Hope I don't become a hermit!

although i dont have alot to lose i have gotten stuck so decided to give cd a go. i am finding it oik i guess, although i do stil;l want to cram food into my mouth, i dont like the tom soup!

Hi there -starting again tomorrow
Hi there - I tried CD sole source a month ago and only managed a week. In that week I lost 8 lbs but because I was quite pleased with that weight loss I became complacent in the 2nd week and by the end of the week I was eating normally again. Actually I think eat more than normal.
I'm rather an emotional eater (sometimes a binge eater.. a secret binge eater I guess) I'm sure there are many others on the CD diet that are like me. i know that some evenings if I have taken 1 bite of something ...I start on a downhill rollercoaster and before i know it I've eaten a huge amount and very quickly. I'm sure I eat to try and push emotions down. Anyway.. i don't know if anyone else on here feels like that, but it can be a lonely place. I've gained nearly 2 stone in the last year, christmas parties are coming up and I'm finding exuses not to go already. Can't stand the thought of wearing something frumpy that doesn't fit properly. Feels like this is ruining my life. Thats sounds melodramatic..but doesn't anyone else feel like that?
Anyhow, this is the reason I must start CD again. To do so properly I need to get into the right mindset. I need to get my weight down and then really start dealing with my issues with food.

Hi, i was so glad when i read your coment as i am pretty much doing the same thing with food as you by the sounds of things! I eat whenever my emotions get the better of me, although it doesn't matter whether i am happy or sad i always self medicate with food. Sometimes i have realised that i don't even taste the food i am eating it so quickly just in case i get caught or even worse i might have to share it with someone. It sounds crazy but food really had taken over my life! I am on day 3 of diet and this morning i am really strugging i have got the shakes big time and feel pretty sick. Must keep strong i am eagerly awaiting an energy busrt, please god let it come today!!!!!

Over the worst!
Hey Emma That's exactly how I behave. around food, weird isn ... Like you,its not just when I'm. upset, depressed or happy.. If. I'm not thinking about eating. I'm thinking about how I would. Diet the following day. I feel like I go into a zombie state when I'm eating and then soooo guilty when I've eaten too much.
In a way that's what I think is good about CD, you don't have 1 bite of anything so don't find yourself on that slippery slope. I think day 2/3 is the hardest, and I remember having headache.s, don't think I felt sick though. . Hope that goes away for you. are you drinking lots of water? I really struggled to drink so much, I had to add the CD sweetner which made it easier. Rushing off to the toilet every five minutes looked a bit odd aat work though. You're over day 3 now, sure ketosis will be kicking in soon. You will honestly feel much better. I have my new packs this evening so am now ready to rock! I'ne got 2 stone to lose. Tomorrow is Day 1. Feel really quite optomistic. There is a christmas lunch on 19th and I would sooo like to look nice for a change! ! Let me know how you are doing tomorrow. Vicky xx

My name is Emma and i am also on my second day of the diet! I am having a tough time today and i a m starting to get the shakes and stuff but i still remain possitive!!!! My target is 41/2 stones and i am so excited that this might be the diet that works for me! Have you tried other diets before? I have been yoyo dieting for the last four years so i hope i crack it this time!!!

STARTING THIS A SECOND TIME TOMORROW (SAT) LAST TIME I LOST 1 1/2 STONE IN JUST UNDER THREE WEEKS SO I KNOW IT WORKS - JUST FINDING IT REALLY HARD TO GET MOTIVATED EVEN THOUGH I KNOW IT WORKS. I started the CD on Monday and have about 6 stone to lose like you. I am finding it OK so far but waiting for ketosis to kick in. I know what you mean about the soups, i hate all of them! Luckily i like the shakes, especially the chocolate mint one and I am using the tetra briks which are easier for work. I would like to be your buddy as we are pretty much in the exact same position!

I know what you mean...
.. that is fine by me.
I think if we can get through this week, get into ketosis and be motivated by the weight we have lost that will give us a great chance of continuing and losing the weight. I am realistic and will have xmas day off the plan but really going to try hard until then and lose a chunk before xmas.
I have a really active social life so avoiding alcohol is going to be tough but i have told everyone what i am up to so i will feel like a public failure if i don't stick to it. We can do it... just imagine next summer slim and relaxing in the sun!!

I'm going by a goal, as well.
I have a retirement party in January after trying hard to hold my own through Christmas. I want to lose 10 lbs., before Xmas, then another 10 by January 26. I have lost over 80 before Thanksgiving, but because I lost control. I went back to my serious habit of bingeing. So far, today, I've gotten control of myself. I'm trying to detox, by mainly having liquids. I'm going to stay in touch with this forum. I need all the support that I can get.

Yeah its positive to find other people going through this which helps. Its really intresting to hear you say your having Christmas day off cause i was planning on doing so aswell but when i approached the subject with my CD counsellor she said i could have turkey but no stuffing and gravy etc but i think as long as it's done in moderation wheres the harm!
The thing i'm looking forward to more than anything is going into the shops and being able to pick up all those nice summer tops and finding my size straight away and not feeling like an alien in the shop! Like you say we can do it.

I found half way through day three to be tough....good job the shakes are nice, although i had the veg one again at work yesterday and was not to bad at a push....
Like you both i will also be havin xmas day off, i dont think by then we will be able to stuff ourselves..
Shopping next summer will be fun...

Hi everyone,
I started CD on monday like you all have and have found it not to bad so far monday, tuesdy and wednesday were all fine but thursdayi was sooooo hungry all day i could have killed someone, i didnt want to eat anything but it was annoying me that they were eating at all. i would really like it if we could do this together, i hve got bit more than 6 stone to lose till i get to target weight but i would be sooo happy if i could lose 6 stone as my first major goal.
I too do not like the soups and much prefer the shakes but forsome reason mine seem to be really lumpy any suggestions????

Will be great to all work together on this, ive found the shakes a bit lumpy at times..find its best adding shake to water and using a mini whisk.
The veg soup i find to be ok now my taste buds are changing i guess.
I will be off for my first weigh in tomorrow at midday..

I really am not convinced by the soups they all smell horrid but dont taste that bad. i have found the shakes to be really lumpy the best way i have found to get them out is using a blender but not that convenient whilst at work for me. do you have msn? if so maybe we could chat through there. How did you all get on?
I got weighed yesterday and have lost 11lbs, so pleased! Lou- try the tetra briks for work if you can't mix the shakes, I always carry one in my bag for the same reason! You are limited to banana and chocolate flavour though but they are a much better option for me than having to carry a whisk around.
Anyone else find the weekend the hardest to resist? At least we got through it though.

Hope you don;t mind me asking, but my councellor is away this week so I am not able to get in touch with her. What are the tetra briks, she has never mentioned them? Are they more expensive than the packets?
