New - and i have a question....

Hi All
I'm new to this board (although I frequent others on here). I have some questions I hoped someone may be able to answer.

I have recently hit 30 and started to gain some weight. I've always been very lucky, do relatively little exercise, eat everything and anything in sight and stay reasonably slim. In the last year I've gained nearly a stone and have decided to do something about it. I have cut out all the crap I eat, sweet, choc, six packs of crisps etc and am having a bowl of bran flakes in the morning, followed by a light lunch and a normal healthy dinner. So far so good, two weeks in and I'm not craving the sweets so much and not feeling hungry so much. I've lost 7lbs which I'm delighted with. Problem is, that since I changed the way I eat, I hardly ever go to the loo. I tried laxatives the other day but don't really want to resort to that. I'm eating fruit & veg, high fibre breakfast and far far healthier than ever. So how come I'm not 'going'. It's sort of disheartening that this week my weight has remained the same and I haven't 'gone'. I feel like if nothing's coming out, how will I lose weight?

As I say I'm new to all of this and thought someone may be able to shed some light on where I'm going wrong.

Fibre

Hi Nicole
It is a bad feeling and something I feel if i go a weekend without eating a lot of my usual fibre.
Obviously it's hard to tell if you're eating the right amount of fibre in a day but i would suggest, as i do to my clients, that broccoli in the evening combined with a lot of water during the day will totally help!

Water?

I think perhaps as you're not eating the rubbish, there is a lot less to get rid of!

If your body has gone under a dramatic change in the way it works (for the better of course ) then perhaps it takes a while to adjust.

Are you drinking enough water? You really want to be drinking 2 litres a day, if not more

Thank you

Thank you both. I think maybe my body's adjusting to it's new routine now as I'm feeling more 'normal' shall we say! I've now lost another two pound so I'm back on track!
