Starting cambridge diet 04/01/08 - anyone else?

Hi there

Yup, i'm going to start the CD on the above date! Believe me when i say i've tried EVERY diet going, lol! My friend and i are starting on the same day and are seeing the same Councilor. We actually believe this is our last chance and so we HAVE to make this work! I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who was thinking about starting this diet round about the same time and maybe we could give each other support?

Hello everyone

It's lovely to see all your comments as it can feel quite isolated doing CD as you don't have a club meeting to go to. CD is tough but I really think that it is the only solution for me becasue I find it SO hard to eat a little and be sensible. With me it's all or nothing! I have a lot of weight to lose so my plan is to bash most of the weight off just any way I can and then try to learn to eat sensibly once I'm at a weight where I can try and look at myself in the mirror. It's difficult to have self respect when you've damaged yourself with food as much as I have! Sorry, don't mean to get heavy here.

Anyway, last year I lost 3 and a half stone on CD. I put 1 and a half back on over Xmas and New Year (told you I was all or nothing!) and started back on CD last week. My first weigh in was this morning and I've lost 11 pounds so 10 more to go to lose what I gained.

Good luck everyone, please keep adding comments as they are really helpful with keeping up the motivation.

Into my 4th week have lost 20lbs so far, 11 the first and 3lbs the following 2 weeks. I'm finding it ok don't really have any dizzy spells but i do feel very hungary in the eve so sometimes have a 4th shake it's better to have that than to eat something else. I am trying to increase my water intake to 3 and half litres and am planning to do some form of excercise. I just want to say to everyone keep going it's tough but the end results will be fantastic.

Hi, I'm seeing my councillor on Monday so shall start on tuesday 15th jan. I am 20kg overweight and 40 in four months. I've been fat far too long and so yes, I too think it's my last chance.

Started cambridge diet 7/01/08/

HI there. I have started the diet this week and i am finding it very hard in some ways in. In the case of i have had the bad headache and the dizzy spells and the shakes as well so i ended up going to the doctors today, thankfully every thing is okay but i may be anemic ,but my doctor has told me to stay on the diet as it really is very good .So can any one else that is on this diet tell me if any of these things have happend to them. Icould certinalyndo with the support please.

Hi there ladies well i have done the first week, it was not easy but i did not cheat once,well i lost 7lb so that has given me the boost to keep going.

I'm on day 7 of the diet and get weighed tomorrow morning 9.30am. I found on day 2 i had the headaches but they didn't last long. I haven't felt any different appart from that. I'm glad the Doctors are supporting this diet though!! I feel great and i'm looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow. I've had the mix of shakes, soups and bars (i know some Councillors don't give out the bars in the first 1 or 2 weeks) and i'm drinking 4pts of water a day. PLEASE keep going as you'll begin to feel great soon!

Hi Ann, i'm on my 2nd week now and my advice is to try really hard to stick with it and make sure you drink plenty of water. I did'nt get any side affects really apart from day 5 when all i thought of was food but i am drinking approx 8 pints of water a day and that really really helps and i feel great. It is great to hear doctors are supporting this diet.Good luck and keep posted.

WOW! How are you managing to drink 8pts of water a day? I'm struggling with 4pts, lol! A friend of mine (on myspace, lol!) is on LighterLife and is also drinking 8pts! I honestly don't think i could do that. Well done

Hi Cody how's it going? Have you been weighed yet? I've got into a routine with the water 2 pints between 7 and 9 then 2 pints between 10 and 1.30 then 2 pints between 2 and 5 then 2 between 6 and bed lol i have to be very regimental (or is it just mental lol lol)The only thing i'm struggling with is the taste in my mouth,today has been the worst its vile.

I think the headaches and shakes are quite common for the first few days. I was like that til day 3 then felt loads better. On day 7 now and getting weighed this evening so I will let you know how I get on. Lots of support on this site so keep posting if you find it hard and we will try to help! Good luck, Kim

hi all well i've just completed my first week on CD and apart from feeling crap on day five its been much easier than i thought it would be. I'm actually enjoying the packets lol. But best of all was my weigh-in this morning, i've lost an amazing 12lb in a week!!!
i am totally shocked and even more motivated than ever now. Good luck to the rest of you.

End of week 2

Hi Chadleys

Well done on losing 12lbs, i lost 11 lbs in my first week and have my 2nd weigh-in tomorrow. I'm really getting into the diet now and my clothes have already started to feel better. Just want to wish everyone luck and keep going. It's only a few months of our lives and we will be so thankful that we perservered.

That's fantastic! Did you have the shakes, soups AND bars plus 4pts (each day) of water all week? Yup, i found last night which was my day 5 a struggle aswell. Infact so did my friend who started with me and we get weighed with same councillor at same time tomorrow Really interesting isn ... that we all feel similar about day 5?
