"3 slimfast smoothies per day" who wants to join me?

Hi everyone! I've just done 2wks on the Cambridge Diet but failed as i became very ill with Flu! I want to try something i've never done before and that is, 3 Slimfast Smoothies per day. It works out at just under 700cals per day which is more cals than what i was having when doing the CD! As a result i know i won't get ill AND, it's tastier
Is there anyone out there who has already done this? Please tell me how you got on
Asda are doing 4 Slimfast Smoothies for £4 right now so i've got my delivery coming on Wed but will go out tomorrow and buy some. I'm going to go to WeightWatchers on Tues morning and get weighed and then start this test and see how i get on
Would love for someone to do this test with me from Tues till the following Tues and if it works - then keep going

Hi tommylyn

I didn't manage to stick to it! lol! It IS really hard going!! Did you manage your couple of days on it?

3 slimfast a day - well...almost

HI!
I began my new year new me diet on Monday this week and i chose Slimfast to give me a kick start. For the first day this week i had ONLY 3 shakes and about 2 litres of water. By tuesday i felt really tired and had a groggy feeling in my head so thought it could be due to blood sugar changes. I decided to include some fruit so ate a banana and a few grapes in between the shakes. On Tuesday night i felt SO weak! I think its because i have gone from eating regularly- pretty much without thought - to eating virtually nothing and relying on the shakes for the energy! Juggling working full time with an energetic 2 and a half yr old needed more cals than i was taking in. On wednesday i decided that i would stick to the shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch but would eat something low fat low cal for dinner along with keeping up the water intake.
Since Wednesday I am feeling so much better. I think sticking to the shakes for the first two days helped me train my stomach not to demand food so much. I think it also showed me that i can be really controlled when i chose to be.
On the slimfast package it does say that its not designed to be your only food. After reading loads about other meal replacement programmes - that once they are completed and normal eating starts, the weight comes on again - i decided that totally eliminating solid 'proper' food is just stupid!!!
So-
For my evening meal i am eating soup. Not watery, dish-water soup, but BIG CHUNKY VEG OR BEAN SOUP. Its really low in fat and all the supermarkets do some really good tinned ones. Im not sure what next week is gonna be like but at the moment im really confident. This is the longest i have managed to commit to a diet in months and i think its due to the Slimfast! I wouldnt advise ONLY SLIMFAST though! But i guess its up to you!

Hi carriefem

Your right, eliminating solid food "proper" food is just stupid. It's amazing the things we put our bodies through in order to lose weight! I failed at my attempt on the 3 shakes, surprise surprise eh? I'm actually back on WeightWatchers Talking of soup, i make the WW ZERO points soup which is great as i can eat as much as i feel i need, yummy!!

Tried it

i did it for a week and it gave me the most horrible stomach ever,i had bad wind and smelly you know whats never again,i lost 5lbs but didnt want to leave houses!!!NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Hi babez

WOW! I'm amazed at you managed to stay on it for a week, well done!! As for the side effects not good then! I failed at my attempt and i'm now doing WW

Tried it!

I went on slimfast for 2 weeks a couple of years ago, I was having more than 3 shakes a day though. I was having 2 shakes and a really really small meal, plus 1 slimfast snack bar, and 1 piece of fruit. It was really hard as was hungry quite alot...but lost like 10 pounds!

In think 3 shakes aday is too little..your not eating enough for you to want to stay on it.

Tried going on it again recently.....but couldn't muster the willpower...am guna try CD next week./......am guna do it this time!!!

Hi laura

That's interesting the results during those 2 weeks you were on the Slimfast. I have to say well done aswell!! What you did sounds very sensible and healthy and worth trying Yes the 3 shakes a day was too little and that's why i failed I came off Cambridge and tried to go back on but just couldn't do it I'm now on WW again. Good luck with the Cambridge - i lost just over a stone in 2 weeks on it! xx
