Hi Has anyone else tried this tea, I think it is amazing. I read that VB drank it to lose weight after their second, so I decided to give it a go. It really works, my tummy is tighter and so are my thighs...

I bought a box of these Tea Bags at the weekend - I would love to lose some weight and thought I would take a cup of tea at night time, before going to bed. Can anyone advise me on how often and when I should be taking the tea in order for it to work - for all I know before going to bed may be the wrong time to take it.

Pu er tea - why/how

Hello, pu er tea is from yunnan province in China and is a traditional folk remedy for treating obesity as it strengthens digestion and disperses food stagnation from overeating. It may also be drunk for nausea, vomiting and excess phlegm.

Traditionally, 6gms of loose tea is soaked in a cup of boiling water for about 10mins and drunk freely throughout the day by topping the cup up with more water each time. Cover the cup when not in use.

I just bought mine this afternoon though i'm not sure if this is the type of Pu-erh tea you're looking for. I started drinking it just tonight while i'm responding to your message so, no results yet. I got it at Hong Bio Famous Tea at 481 Nueva st. Binondo, Manila. The store's other name for Pu-erh is Polee tea but the owner assured me it's really Pu-erh. U can buy it in loose tea leaves (not in tea bags, I like it better this way) so you may need a clear, dry jar where you can store it. Anyways, I immersed the tea leaves (on internet it says 6 grams but since I don't have that much idea with grams, I tried 1.5 tablespoons) in boiling or boiled water for 10 min. U may take it together with each meal serving as your water substitute (I saw on internet). Better off if you also inquire wth the store owner. I hope my response helped you a lot. I would like to add that if your main concern is slimming it will also help if you have a cup of yoghurt a day as dessert and a tablespoon of apple cider with a tbsp. of honey first thing in the morning and before going to bed) and guess what? I already lost 6 pounds though the result is not that immediate so, I'm trying pu-erh now so I can weigh which works better for me..

I have just received my first order of strawberry tea from the tea house, it tastes like fag butts smell when wet, but if it does me good i'll drink it. Will report back once my first 100g is gone and let you know if it worked or not.

I havent tried pu erh tea, but it sounds like good stuff for losing weight! I looked it up on the internet after reading what you said.I'D love to try it, if I can find it in the shops.
What does it taste like?
Im losing weight using slimfast, its working for me , but I'd try anything to lose weight!
Im off to the gym tomorrow for a gym session and swim so that will help a bit!

I work in a store that sells pu erh. It is supposed to work very well for weight loss, however it does not have the best taste. It is fermented in a cave for an average of 4-6 years. . . and you can definately taste the age. I would recommend mixing it with a strong tea to even out the flavor a bit.

I just started drinking it regularly 2 days ago and of course havent lost a thing (obviously didnt expect to in 2 days) but if I buy a regular brand from the supermarket, lets say (robert roberts brand) is it less effective than the mad internet stuff. also, does it have laxative effects, and should I start eating healthy too, or does it really matter??????

I haven't tried this tea myself, although I intend to. Apparently its good for weight loss, but its definitely good for reducing high cholesterol. I'm getting mine from a local tea shop (I live in N.I.) and they explained that pu-erh is a bit of a conisseurs(sp?)tea - some people will pay thousands for it if its really old - it improves with age. I'm a bit skeptical of people who say they lost 6lbs with it in one week, that certainly wouldn't be the type of weight loss that most people should expect. I'd say if you were getting good quality pu-erh tea, drinking 3-4 cups a day and needed to lose weight, you could expect to lose 2-4lbs a week.

I love tea and find good quality green tea good - when I don't have time to exercise for a week or so I drink a few cups of it each day instead! But pu-erh is meant to be better, I'm looking forward to trying it!
