Cambridge diet - recipes to improve the taste of the shakes!

I started the cambrige diet and was struggling to drink the shakes due to the lack of taste, so I came up with these recipes to make it just a little easier. All recipes are equal in calories to two cambridge sachets, so I just have one more sachet in the evening usually a soup and a multivitamin to make sure my vitamin/mineral requirements are met. I would also recommend taking an omega oil supplement.

Mint Choc Bar (Equal to two cambrige diet sachets)

1 Chocolate Cambridge diet sachet
9 teaspoons or 3 (11g) Mint Chocolate Options powder
Water
A large piece of foil


Put the CC diet sachet in a bowl with the Mint Chocolate Options, add a little water and whisk the mixture. Keep adding water until the constistancy of the mixture resembles melted chocolate or a thick pancake batter.
Lay the piece of foil on a kitchen top or table, fold the foil in half and then open out flat so the crease is in the middle. Spoon the mixture on to the foil just off centre so it almost fills one of the halfs leaving about 2 inches/5cm from the edge clear. Fold the over the other half of the foil and fold over the edges to prevent any leaks it should now resemble a flattish parcel. Pop the parcel in the freezer for a few hours. When the mixture has set remove from the freezer, unwrap and cut the bar into six pieces. Providing the mixture does not melt too much you can a piece throughout the day whenever you feel like it, just pop it back into the freezer when it starts to melt. Instructions the same for all recipes.

Varieties

Chocolate Orange Bar (Equal to two cambrige diet sachets)

1 Chocolate Cambridge diet sachet
9 teaspoons or 3 (11g) Chocolate Orange Options powder
Water
A large piece of foil

Instructions as before.


"Milky Way Wannabe Bar" (Equal to two cambrige diet sachets)

1 Vanilla Cambridge diet sachet
5 teaspoons of Maltesers Hot Chocolate Drink Powder
Water

Instructions as per Mint Choc Bar recipe.


Malty Chocolate Bar

1 Chocolate Cambridge diet sachet
5 Teaspoons of Malteser Hot Chocolate Drink Powder
Water
A large piece of foil

Instructions as per Mint Choc Bar recipe.

Starmix - thanks for those ideas to make the shakes a bit more interesting! i am on day 9 and am struggling a bit now to be honest. How long have you been on it? what have you lost? I feel full, but am missing the feeling of being 'satisfied' if you know what i mean!

7 days in

First congrats for doing so well, 9 days on the CD can feel like an eternity! Well a couple of weeks before christmas I did it for around 10 days on the shakes alone. I lost 10lbs but then christmas came, so did plenty of food and a few birthdays. So I ended up gaining 5lbs over a month and a half.

Second time round I was really struggling at first due to the taste of the shakes! I was quite looking forward to fruits of the forest, strawberry and vanilla but they made me want to gag! I am going to have come up with a solution for the berry flavours! I managed a couple of days on the shakes just, then saturday I decided to experiment with them. I missed not

I have missed not eating that is why I froze the bars so I can have a little nibble in the evening. I am on day 7 going for a weigh in day 10 so triggerhippie I will let you know how I get on. On the good side I know a few people lost a few stone on CD and kept it off. So there is hope yet
