Back on the cambridge - lost 4 and a half stone in the past
Hello Ladies. I did the Cambridge diet a few years ago and lost 4 and a half stone in 12 weeks. I felt fantastic! The only reason I came off the diet, as I still had a way to go, was a family bereavement - I couldn't get through the funeral without a stiff drink! (or 2) Yes, at first it is hard - but try to think long term.... I found that the first 2 days are fine - you feel really strong. Then along comes days 3,4 & 5 - by this point, you could cheerfully eat a scabby horse - then you are in full ketosis. This means you are no longer physically hungry (or so they say!) I found that I still felt hungry until about day 10 - 11. These past few days are all about mental adjustment. Your body has physically adapted and starts to burn stored fat but mentally it is so hard to get over the whole "No food" concept. The good news is, once you accept this - it is plain sailing. I found that I didn't want to ruin all the good I had done - and I didn't want to go through the first phase again - so much easier to stick to it than start again. Also I felt amazing as the weight fell off! I slept better, I had more energy and I loved shopping for smaller sizes. I have kept the weight off for 2 years but not lost anymore .... Now I am back on it )only day 5) and I still have 6 stone to lose. So here we go ladies - let's crack this .... Good luck to you all.
