On the cambridge diet and desperate for buddies and inspiration

I am on day 10 of the Cambridge Diet. In the first week I only lost 6 pounds - with over 6 stone to lose I feel really miserable about this. Today I was so hungry I actually gave in and ate a roll and butter. Please help me get back on track and reach my goal. I feel sure that with support of buddies I will feel a lot better and more enthusiastic and know that in turn I will be able to support my buddies in their times of need,
Please reply
Irene

Hi

Just about to reply and realised it is some time ago that you put your message on the board. How is the C.D going?

Hi

Hi Irene,

How you getting on?

Back on the cambridge - lost 4 and a half stone in the past

Hello Ladies.
I did the Cambridge diet a few years ago and lost 4 and a half stone in 12 weeks. I felt fantastic! The only reason I came off the diet, as I still had a way to go, was a family bereavement - I couldn't get through the funeral without a stiff drink! (or 2)
Yes, at first it is hard - but try to think long term.... I found that the first 2 days are fine - you feel really strong. Then along comes days 3,4 & 5 - by this point, you could cheerfully eat a scabby horse - then you are in full ketosis. This means you are no longer physically hungry (or so they say!) I found that I still felt hungry until about day 10 - 11. These past few days are all about mental adjustment. Your body has physically adapted and starts to burn stored fat but mentally it is so hard to get over the whole "No food" concept. The good news is, once you accept this - it is plain sailing. I found that I didn't want to ruin all the good I had done - and I didn't want to go through the first phase again - so much easier to stick to it than start again. Also I felt amazing as the weight fell off! I slept better, I had more energy and I loved shopping for smaller sizes. I have kept the weight off for 2 years but not lost anymore .... Now I am back on it )only day 5) and I still have 6 stone to lose. So here we go ladies - let's crack this .... Good luck to you all.

Dont give up

Hi Irene
I,m on day 8 - I have about the same to lose as you - I have just had my first weigh in and lost 14lb! So stick with it as it is worth it.
I really struggled through my first week - even the dog food started to look appealing
Please dont give up you have worked so hard - let me know how you are getting on.

Think!

A diet should bring well being and not misery!!! This is my personal opinion.
